I like to see games trying to bring e-sports to a biggest stage, but a game like BF really isn't the kind of thing that should be used for this, there is too much of a lack of balance, and a pretty big element of luck.

StarCraft: Brood War and SC2 are the best e-sports games in my opinion, which is why they are the centre of all the tournaments. I believe MLG Providence has $120,000 for the winner this weekend, which doesn't seem as much unless you consider that it won't be split amongst a team, and that there is more than one MLG, so if you are good enough to place consistently high that's a lot of money you're making...

Fair play for being good enough to get asked to join the team, but don't expect to become a millionaire on the back of it...

Anyways, I've been playing a lot and have been setting challenges for myself. Such as: Knife Only, Sniper Only, Pistol Only, Etc.

Any of you guys gotten to that point yet? Also, which sig do you like better? The one I currently have, or this one...

You can, but only with games that can sustain that level of competition; EG Starcraft. BF3 couldn't keep that up because it isn't designed around e-sports, which is where the money comes from. Nothing against anyone who can win the money, but people can play it for a living - look at Greg 'Idra' Shields and HuK, etc...

Hmm... Rather useless argument IMO, consider how many people already have Battlefeild 1943 already.
I would be more content with what we got in return, such as every DLC pack released coming early to us PS3 owners, instead of PC/Xbox gamers again making fun of the fact that they assume DICE hates us.

Too bad you aren't getting anything in return.

In response to people taking to Twitter and saying "uh, where's Battlefield 1943", EA has said "In lieu of 1943 being available on disk for PS3 customers, EA has made all BF3 expansions available early to PS3 customers." So no BF1943 for you, then.

Yet the decision to release the DLC early for PS3 owners had already been made and announced in September. Which means there's nothing "in lieu" at all, since many PS3 owners had been expecting early DLC and a free game.

So technically, you were already getting the DLC early.

Someone posted a good analogy in the comment section...

A better analogy would be driving by a Burger King and McDonald's: You really want BK, but you see McD's is offering a buy one, get one free value meal deal so you pass up the BK you really wanted to get the deal at McDonald's. After you get home from the drive-thru, you notice there was only one meal in the bag. So you call them and they explain that, "Oh yeah we're not doing that now. We explained on Twitter...

This. Believe it or not, I was considering getting BF3 on the Xbox instead, and that inclusion was what swayed me to the PS3 version. When I got the game and BF1943 wasn't with it, ****** didn't even BEGIN to describe how I felt.

I already sent an email to the firm, asking to join the Class Action Lawsuit, and giving them my information. I suggest that even if you don't particularly care for BF1943, you do the same.

McDonalds may run out of toys during the day, thus no free toy.

You can't run out of BF 1943 because it's a digital copy, it's not a disc.

I understand what whale is saying. They were going to give us both, but they didnt give it out to us and gave us only half of the deal on release date, not even mentioning that they took out the other untill a few weeks after release.

Honestly, I don't really care about the free 1943. Not because I already own it, but because it wasn't all that great in my opinion... :/ The maps were mediocre, controls sucked (I started BF on BC2... :/), and the mechanics were horrendous. I just didn't have fun on that game. I don't understand why people were so angry about it. BF3 is so much better. Most of those angry people are going to play it once and then never again. Very few will actually keep playing it.

Remember, that is my opinion. Not stating fact.

I loved 43 also. Shoot your grenade launcher, switch to your gun, empty your clip and then shoot your already reloaded grenade launcher again. Plus how could you not love controling the air strike? Ahhh good times
