Wow, nice! Wish the vid as a bit higher quality, though. From what I can tell from the match there are some very inexperienced pilots against you and nobody on the ground is packing AA missles, either. It's always nice when I can jump into a jet on Rush or Conquest and own the map. The thing about jets is that if you get up against an equally skilled pilot or it only takes one mistake (i.e. get a bogie on your six and bail) and soon you're switching to AA missles to keep the other team from spawn destroying. At least in my experience.
So I figure here's the best place to ask you for some advice. What do you do when you have someone on your tail like glue?
Also, it looks like you're running with extinguishers and no flares? You are a brave soul. Also, your lock-on time is like half of mine?
Edit: New Karkand Trailer (BOBCATS!!!!)

Anyone else dissapointed that they came out with a patch that fixed a lot of things, but not the input lag on PS3??? to me this is the biggest issue with the game and it sucks that they didn't fix it..

Epic awesomeness today, in one of the little attack heli's as a passenger hanging off the side constantly repairing, and the pilot was fending off attackers doing his thing I got out my heat seaking rockets and took down a chopper myself, killing 2 people, and then went back to repairing it
Was epic I tell you.

Next patch for PC, Tuesday Dec. 6th.
Unfortunately, it sounds like this patch is only for PC on Dec. 6th. Maybe it will be released alongside the PS3 Back to Karkand pack, but that would only be if Sony has gotten it passed. The full list is apparently on BattleLog.

DICE continues to tweak its hugely popular FPS, Battlefield 3, and players can expect a gigantic patch to hitting the web on Tuesday. The patch will fix a number of bugs, as well as balance several weapons. It will also include most of the content for the expansion pack Back to Karkand... but these extra maps won't go live for PC players until December 13.
Due to the size of Back to Karkand, the patch weighs in at approximately 2 gigabytes (even for those players who have no plans to purchase the DLC). DICE admits that "this is not ideal", and it aims to "make potential DLC content in the future as optional downloads".
Some of the key fixes are as follows:
Bugfixes:
Fixed a problem where player who joined queuing on end of round got spawn screen stuck on screen, but unable to do anything with it until next round loaded.
Fixed a problem where TV guided missiles could be shot into its own helicopter and destroy it.
Added alternate HUD colors to help colorblinds.
Fixed a problem with smoke on land vehicles, Missiles should now miss more often.
Fixed a problem where the user was unable to revive two players that have the bodies one over the other.
Fixed a problem where you could get green flashes on screen.
Balance Tweaks:
Fixed several weapons so they are properly suppressed and hide the player on the minimap when fired.
Tweaked Tactical Light so it is not as blinding over longer ranges.
Tweaked the IRNV scope so it is limited to usage only at close range.
Reduced the damage done to Armored Vehicles and Infantry from AA guns.
Increased the damage RPGs and Tank shells do to AA vehicles.
Slightly Increased the power of Fighter Jet Cannons against all vehicle targets, especially Helicopters.

Wait, what. One of the main reasons I used that scope was so I could find far off enemies, as they are so small in the distance, so this kinda nerfs its usage for me. Well, at least I'll be able to see the people 5 feet infront of me, who of course would be invisible to me any other way.

That's the point of it completely. It was far too overpowered to begin with. While I saw its benefits (and overused it as a result), the IRNV scope was way too powerful with its crystal clear night vision. The most recent patch saw only a slight nerf to the scope by making the surroundings more blurred and the heat signatures less bright, but this will definitely balance things out a bit IMO. Plus, you wouldn't want to see every player in the game running around with one of these as it wouldn't even feel like a modern Battlefield, but a futuristic one instead where both sides have this technology. That's just my opinion seeing both sides of it.Wait, what. Oh, I know it was overpowered before, but... but just look at it now:That's the point of it completely. It was far too overpowered to begin with. So, unless you run around aiming down the sight, using it in a combat situation for just the fact it that is a scope to aim down with, is near impossible.Last edited by Kog; 12-06-2011 at 02:21 AM.

Oh well, better underpowered than overpowered. I never used it anyway.
And LAME... 3.9GB update for PC
Some good improvements though so it'll be worth it. Plus B2K next week too

Sadly, your game setup is better than mine... Dx Mine is a closet with the doors ripped out and a makeshift shelf put in supported by filing cabinets. Now put a TV on top of that with a basket filled with gaming junk and you have my setup...

It wasn't always this way... I used to have one of those little crappy $30 cardboard TV caddies on wheels for the longest time. We bought this gigantic entertainment center from Ikea a few years back because I loved the way it looked and we some leftover cash from Christmas. Now that I've moved (twice), and had to disassemble and reassemble the thing, I pretty much hate it. It takes up nearly the entire wall of our living room and is a pain in the butt to move when everything is on it. My next TV will be bigger, mounted on the wall, and the entertainment center will be minimal.
So, what do you guys think of the B2K maps?Last edited by schm0; 12-08-2011 at 11:56 AM.
