Ya know... it has been one of my favorite guns on assault (if I recall correctly!!). Tried it the other day and was freaking why I was doing so badly. Wasn't sure what was going on. Rather than doing my thing and killing others a good portion of the time, I was left instantly dead by everything and rarely even registered a hit on them.

What are you using instead of that now?

I think that the patch might have broken some of the jet stuff. First, heat seekers keep locked on even after the target deploys flares (missiles launched at this moment won't hit the target). Also, most of the heat seekers seem to not hit the target at all. And I managed to get my jet stuck mid-air and had to suicide.

They're fixing heat seekers and TV missiles with a fix to the back end for XBox and PS3... PC update coming soon.

I never rolled with the Famas, but the F2000 is still decent enough to earn me some kills. Also, what attachments do you use with the gun?

Most assult weapons I rig for the duty at hand. Like a Team or Squad deathmatch, any closer combat use, I like the halo sights, vertical grip. I may have the laser sight on, but might keep it off at times as it can give away your position. Not that big of fan of the light either, though I have found it hard to fight against.

Larger maps, I might go with a 4x scope or longer. ...though usually those I end up playing as engineer and either use a PP-19 (jumping out of tank for close battles) or a G36C (for mid to longer range encounters)

Good. The only jet kill I got since the update was a roadkill.

Yeah, the foregrip doesn't have the beneficial effects that it did before. I believe the Famas also received a heavy nerf and has a ton of recoil now. You might be better off with a flash suppressor or silencer than the laser, to be honest.

I guess it has... To be honest, I have been trying other weapons to find what works best for me. Just sad since I had everything unlocked and almost 6 stars on that one.

Wish there were an easy way to go in something like a practice range and try out weapons, options etc without having to select a kit, nor awaiting the options to be unlocked.

I had like 12 famas service stars. :P
I'm trying to find a new assault rifle now too. I'm currently using the M16A3 with Hole sights, flash suppressor and grip. Pretty decent so far. I've been using it on high ticket count metro servers since consoles have those now. :P

I hated the FAMAS. I'm glad it's reign of terror is finally over. (No offence to those who use it). I'm currently using the M16A3 (Russian acquired while on opposite team... Is there a difference?) With holographic site, fore grip, and heavy barrel. It's a fantastic gun for burst and full auto. It's my most used gun.

Wow... I never knew it had such a bad reputation. In my experience, the ones most complained about in game were the M320 and USAS. I had issues with those two as well, but never felt that way about the FAMAS, even when coming across it playing other kits.

I will have to give the M16A3 a try as I still haven't found one that suits me yet when playing the Assault kit.

I would be semi-happy when a different weapon killed me lol. My favorite gun on there is the G36C for engineer but if you want a good assault weapon, try the M16A3 or M416. Neither one feels changed imo and the iron sights aren't bad if you don't want attachments. Good go-to guns.
I've noticed the suppression has gotten somewhat harder now. Had to change the way I play just to adjust to it. Anyone noticed?

Yeah.. I am really liking the G36C for engineer, though I did really well with the SCAR once I had all the goodies. I also like the PP19 or P90 when playing as engineer if the map lends itself to more close quarters shooting.

Lol at the renting servers, which I assume it to fit with their whole 'lets make BF an eSport' thing. Not gonna happen. I hate FPS's as competitive 'eSports' games, with the exception of CS, which works. Other than that, all about SC2. And LoL I guess, but only because LoL is free.

It's had an eSports element for a while now. Just all the matches took place in empty public servers.

Man, I completely forgot about the P90. I've gotta unlock that gun. Never got a chance to try it in the beta. I hear it's good for running-and-gunning on TDM. Thanks for the reminder.

I had a pretty bad scare today. I was defending on Grand Bazaar rush (I was Recon with the MP7) We were on the 2nd base and I saw no one was coming up the meat grinder alleyway. I ran through it and a buddy spawned on me. I came around the corner that led into the street and a tank was staring directly at me and my buddy. We bolted to get away and he killed my friend and almost me. I healed up, my friend spawned on someone else and used a RPG to kill the tank. I then proceeded to knife 6 attackers. And got 1 message that, if posted, would get me banned lol. But yeah, the attackers get the tank on the second wave now. Just so you guys know.

What has the new patch added, other then the need to re-download my dlc map pack? my friend says its somehow changed the maps or something? anyone know of a good scoped gun for the assult kit to have and how to unlock it? I seem to have the weapon with the worst re-coil ever in a game ever.

The gameplay, it's weapons and tons of minor changes make the game "feel" completely different. You still have to shoot the bad guys, of course, but it fixes a ton of things.
