I think helicopters should land in the base to reload, but they should do realistic damage to infantry. And that is no mere machine gun they have, it's a 30mm autocanon , kinda like the one on IFVs. So this takes us to :
---> More damage to tanks but less ammo without reload.
--->More damage to infantry, knowing that IRL it has a 3m lethal radius.
The problem is in BF3 gunfire isn't all that loud. It should be loud enough to give away your position by being heard by the enemy, not that minimap mechanic. Also, when everyone is on the other team's minimap, spotting is rendered useless. No one is using spotting anymore, and flash suppressor are truly useless now. This also increases the possibility of a mortar-fest and doesn't force squads to sick together and watch their flanks. I play BC2 on hardcore a lot (more teamplay IMO), and usually a muzzle flash gives is enough for me to locate the enemy. And in real life, almost no one besides special ops uses suppressors. So this added mechanic only makes the game even more noob-friendly.

Yes, exactly. And judging by campaign and co-op, they already have the animation for it. You should also be able to close it, to add to the suspense. Because without that you'd know if the door is closed no one has walked in and if it's open there is/was someone.
Thank you, "unusual'' was the word I was looking for. And yes, MAV is fixed. But if i'm correct spawning on those beacons on the winch makes you parachute. And of course there's still helos.

Yes on the cranes, but any place with a roof you don't have to parachute... like on Canals. That one large crane or whatever it is, has a bit of a roof so to speak, so a beacon there will allow someone to just pop right there. Another is like at the construction site on Oman. If it is placed under a roof, even on the top floor, you are there... outside that area, you are parachuting.

To be honest, parachuting onto roofs shouldn't be a big deal if the map has air vehicles. Also,
ARMORED KILL! Must get premium ASAP. But it doesn't seem right to announce the BF4 beta in a BF3 expansion pack trailer...

True... I don't find it an issue anyway as lobbing a grenade or just coming in as a sniper can give you a nice easy kill... or just a few pecks with a quality rifle will do the truck.
Armored Kill looks awesome.. I think in premium we get it early too.

If I included my highlights of BF so far, it would certainly look that insane.
EXAMPLE:
Just very recently I was in a jet on OMAN doing mah stuffs, when I got hit and parachuted out onto the highest crane in the map (one of the ones with no ladder INSANELY high). 2 guys on the opposing team were on top. One saw me, but I took him out with my silenced pistol pretty quickly, so the guy sniping next to him clearly didn't hear it and I took his adams apple with my knife
I then jumped off and parachuted down onto land and carried on like normal.
That's insane yo.
I still struggle to understand the hate some of this game receives on a good few forums/blogs etc. Some of the design decisions are far from perfect, but I wouldn't call it a dissapointment. I thoroughly enjoy it, though I don't spend enough time on it due to having too many games to get through >.>Last edited by ryryryan; 07-19-2012 at 10:16 PM.

Eh. I have to disagree. The trailers always make it seem like the game is extremely cinematic. Jeeps and tanks flowing through the deserts together. Airplanes fighting airplanes, destroying them and flying through their explosions. A group of infantry trotting through the jungles together. In the trailer, the infantry has long epic battles with each other, but in reality, you always die after 1-2 bullets and sometimes don't even see where you die from.If I included my highlights of BF so far, it would certainly look that insane.

The game is fun, no doubt. I don't think the game is as epic as the trailers. I understand why they make them like that but still.

the movement is a pain sometimes, i've lost count of the numbers of times I've died because i've been stuck on a kerb or knee-high rock I can't see.
