    Default Geartown

Hey guys! Looks like my last LBP1 level has finally arrived. Ah well, I tried to make it a good one, so here it is! A steampunk-esque level themed around gears! I've really tried to make the gameplay as original as I can think of, and worked hard on the visuals (though I'm awful at those, so don't expect anything to special xD). Anywho, here are some pictures:

I didn't get time to have this tested by someone else, so if you discover any bugs, that'd be really helpful.

Any comments are greatly appreciated. Also, once I get LBP2, feel free to ask to have me F4F that instead

Um, you commented on the level saying you left a review, and I can't find it. Where have you put it

Great level! The visuals, while not as stunning as some levels, were still very good,. I particularly liked your scoreboard and close level gate: both of them fit the theme of the level very well. Gameplay wise, I only have a couple minor complaints. Occasionally, the camera didn't really move until I was almost at the edge of the screen, and there was an obstacle there. Also, I don't think the box type thing that pulls you up up of the water at one point is clear enough. Besides that though, the gameplay was a lot of fun, I particularly liked the section with the pistons moving up and down, swinging on the sponge beneath them. Good job!
Since you said you do F4F, please check out the level in my sig. Thanks!

Sorry for the wait! I got held up thinking my review over.

Anyway, even if you said you weren't very good at setting, you're wrong this time, it was terrific! The lighting and the machinery of the setting worked well. The only peeve that I have is that you should have used no more than one or two layers unless it was necessary to do so, since it felt a bit empty. Other than that, the gameplay was high-quality, especially that part with the three sets of three bubbles tripped me up when there was an electric wall there. Keep up the good work!

Overall, I give this because of that flaw, it did not deserve the fifth star.
I also gave you a for good setting and gameplay.

If you have the time, can you try my level Sanctuarium? The link to the details is on my sig below.
If you're gonna do feedback, post it in the thread. Thanks!

Ah, the old layer problem, had that with my previous level to. Everyone says I don't use them well enough. I'll work on it

Thanks a lot! I'll work on the box thing, I don't really like it either. Would a gear on a winch (like the one that pulls you up after the rocket bit) be OK?

Also, I see no sig, is the level called 'Escape Centre 225'?

Also, do you guys mind if it takes a little while? If I get LBP2 today, I'll be quite excited as you imagine, so it may take a few days. I They could also be my first F4Fs I've done in LBP2 Unless I don't get it, then I'll definatly do it tonight.

EDIT: Oh noes, my first sad face

Probably that would work better, yeah. I think the big problem with the box is that it's just to hard to tell what you're supposed to do with it. I think even making the piston/winch/whatever is attached to it visible would improve it a lot. I spent a lot of time at that area trying to jump on the gears spinning just above the water.

Oh yeah... you're right... Is there some sort of post requirement before it shows up? In any case, my level is Cave Dash. Sorry about that. And sure, feel free to take your time.
Btw I forgot to mention before, but this level got a from me.
Edit: Weird, now it's showing up in my sig.

    - Camera is too slow to see the upcoming grabbable gears. The player still has the paintinator also.
Fix the camera. Adding a weapon remover before that section would be beneficial also.
    - Make the player work for the bubble combos, they shouldn't be handed out like free candy.
    This makes it more engaging.
    - What is the trigger for the elevator? Gameplay wise this mechanic doesn't make much sense.
    - Blind jump into water.
    - Layer switching during the three platform rotation.
+ Gauge that slows down the obstacles.
+ Up/down grabbable piston blocks. (with graffiti)

    Solid level.
Just work on the cameras/layers, and mix up those point bubble chains.

    Bad design 101
