Switching between layers

Hey guys.

I was wondering how this would work:

In this movie the sackboy is springing from platform to platform in differet layers. Do you think that you have to tap the up or down (that's the way to change between layers while playing though) button to jump to that platform or do you just have to jump and it will do by itself?

on the platforms that moved up and down imo it looked like you had to press up when jumping but on the second set of platforms i was a bit confused. I think that you have to press up though. If you want to switch layers and jump across all u do is point the left stick in a diagonal direction

Your definitly going to have to press the button that lets you change layers, otherwise the game would be too easy. Another thing to note is that if you hold down the button you will jump the 2 layers (If theres something there ofcourse.. I heard they have an intelligent layer-switching system)

In some preview they said that up on the d-pad goes back one layer, down comes forward.

I thought that D-pad presses were for emotes... I r confused. Maybe the Wiki has something on the controls...

Dpad is for emotes definitely. I think it's up and down on the analogue sticks personally. And when you're running (I'm not sure on this) you don't have the 3 planes of depth, you can just run into the background/middle/foreground as far or as little as possible.
