I was actually going to come here and post that the first spinning thing was spinning waaaaay too fast, but if you tweaked it a bit I'll check it out again.

I played it again and beat it last night, by the way. I enjoyed it, it's not very pretty to look at, but I had fun. My suggestions would be:
Make it longer and throw in some checkpoints. Instant level end from dying isn't very fun. I'm sure quite a few people would just give up after 1 death instead of trying again, especially if they got pretty far.
Add some kind of visual flare.
That's all I've got. Good luck!Last edited by Dietomaha; 02-02-2011 at 01:28 PM.

Awesome, sounds fun. I've added it to my queue and will play and review it after college.
In return, please try and review my level.

Thanks for playing my level Doodle Jump, here's my feedback back (sorry it's a bit late). I write it as I play it, to hopefully help pinpoint certain areas that need improvments/praise.
wow, Starfield. Looks cool. Ha, the jumping looks funny. Also, not sure if this is intentional, but you can unequip the Grapple Hook. Wow, this feels weird, but cool. It could really do with a game camera to zoom out. I died, and that's the end. Restarting. Ok, the spinning one really is quite difficult, and I couldn't see where to go after the one after that. Died. Restarting again. I find the grappling hook keeps going on the one your already on.
Overall, an okay level. The gravity is a nice feature, though you can't see where you're going at all and it starts to get repetitive quickly.

Thank you! I have fixed the game camera and made sure that you can not unequip the grapple hook. Also, I tried to add decorations to the sponges, but I couldn't find anything that looked good.

I like the concept, and I like the increased speed that comes with grappling in high gravity, but the actual level is pretty irritating.
Some problems:
Why is there no respawning? It's tough enough trying to beat the level normally, but to have to restart instead of getting another try back at the start makes it way too frustrating.
The vertical climb is way harder than it should be. It's too hard to try and grapple onto the top of things like that. Maybe if you had the cloth pieces arranged as more circles instead of vertical pillars it would be more playable.
Starting out on a platform made of glass is a bit irritating because of the low friction.
The race start gate is broken, you can run right through it. My first experience in the level was running straight through the gate, falling to my death, and getting sent straight to the scoreboard for no reason. Make a new one and drop it in the current one's place so you can't run through it and die.
The first spinning wheel goes way too fast to be able to time your release so that you actually go where you want to go.
The starry scrolling background makes it hard to judge your movement. For instance, at the end when I was being pulled up by the sponge I thought that the next platform was moving down, not that I was moving up.Last edited by phort; 02-14-2011 at 02:19 AM.

Got to this from another thread where you said your special ability was to make really hard grappling sections. Ha...you weren't kidding. I can definitely say it was unique and challenging. Very challenging. I managed to finish after maybe 5 attempts, but I feel I probably have above average skill with LBP's rather unique grappling hook mechanics due to the practice I got creating a couple sections in my level.
The gravity gives it a unique challenge, but if you lose your momentum you're in trouble. The best way is to just kind of hop from one thing to the next with very short burst of grappling. Once you get stopped on one platform, swinging or moving up to get enough speed again can be tough.
So I thought it was interesting, but I can see a lot of people being frustrated by it.

Thanks!

Thank you so much! Also, I intended for the course to be exactly that way. It's quite hard to keep your momentum, isn't it?
