Default Land of Corrupt Bits - Prologue

( I already fixed that typo on level's description so it'll take while to update at LBP.me )

Behold! My first level in LBP2. Ain't prettiest result, but I'm freaking proud of it.
It's platforming level with tricky obstacles and you'll use lots of Grappling Hook and Bounce Pads.
I was curious to work hard on level's style and plot, hoping that I would continue this as series or something more awesome.
So try my first LBP2 level and leave some useful feedback!

LOL Thanks im glad you noticed the pelvic thrusts , just put them in there for the LOLS.
anyway I'll give this level a go right now and leave some feedback.

    Ok I played it:

    This level is Visually- Amazing.....
The whole level looks great, from the start to the finish the Pixelated theme really prevails. I can't fault the design AT all.
Start points were nicely allocated and the music really suited the theme. The characters were likeable and I have high hopes for the next part
Keep up the outstanding work mate.

    I'll give it a look.

Check out one of the levels in my sig.

EDIT: I played it, and I loved the design aspect of the level. I have nothing to change about the looks, except that the king is kind of creepy.

For me, there were too many cutscenes, and they held for too long. For example, you didn't need a cutscene where the block falls down to prevent you from going back. It's not a huge event. And for the talking in the cutscenes, you can now wire magic mouths together, so you can avoid the issue of waiting for the next speech bubble to show up.

It was pretty cool the design was awesome. I felt though a background work well for you. And exceptional uses of holograms for aesthetics. I don't have anycomplaints about it except that it was too short lol.

    Thumbs up

The visuals were nice. Those pixel materials will make for some cool levels.
I liked the scrolling "error" text, and the flashing red in the layers behind.
I feel you broke LBP down to the basics quite nicely (visually).

I would suggest you try blending in the checkpoints/bounce pads/grapple station into the pixel theme somehow.
It was fairly linear, some secrets/extra challenges would help. Plus the bubble combos could be tighter.
I would zoom out the camera to show the hazard above in that part where you need to grapple twice in a row quicky.
    Cool but more length please.

    Bad design 101

For extra challenges, I'd like to add time attack race from start to entrance of cave before last cutscene starts.
Blending bounce pads, grapple station and checkpoint with pixel stickers I used on one of my sackbot actors.
I can set camera's angle at the hazard, but it was first planned as teasing surprise for players. ;D

I'm very new with using movie camera right now, so maybe I used too much cutscenes because of curiousity.
Yeah, I had little issues with magic mouth while I was making cutscenes. I will fix them one day!

Real cool! Did you make the music? I liked that it played through to the next track after a while instead of looping the same song again.

I wish it was longer! The theme is good. It gets a bit hard at the part with the flipping bounce pads since you have to land on the far right side of the last one to make it to the next section.

Ummmm, I only used licenced tracks and cinematic music. Not my own music, I'm afraid. ;|
Sorry to give you a short level. The thermometer was little high, because I used lots of detailed pixel materials.

I played it this afternoon and I must say that I see some potential.

    Good:
    - nice design
    - a bit of a challenge
    - neat platforming action

    Bad:
    - it's kinda short

    Suggestions:
    - change the appearance of the king. I like his design but I think you could do it even better
    - The things that ride the grabable swing platforms could use some life. Make them do some kind of movement
    - make it so that during the movie sequences the next speech bubble starts when you close the last one
    - a short level as this could use a race. Make use of the replayability
    - make the bounce pads at the last platforming section stronger. It will help you with a lot of rage quits

I left a review, like & hearted it. As said, I see potential. Make sure to keep this going or just continue creating.
    Lots of love, blizzard!

That was an well made level you did.

    VISUALS:
The pixel materials made this level looked really cool, and the cinematic scenes and character are interesting too.

    SOUND:
Good use of sound effects, and the "Vision One" music fits well in this level.

    GAMEPLAY:
The usage of grappling hook and bouncing pads are really good. Awesome platforming.

    OVERALL:
Brilliant job on this pixel level. A yeah vote, a heart, and a positive review.

Just played this level (yes... just. Bought Heavy Rain and that was me for the past few days)

It was amazing, really. I loved the pixel style, how messy the pixels were placed and it really reflected the mood of the entire level, some awesome challenges in there (the grappling hook with the spinny platforms FFFFFF-), and most importantly the usage of sackbots in the cinematic sequences. The music was used well, in a way that 'I don't like that kind of music, but it suited the level, so I really liked it anyway', if that makes any sense (I know it didn't for me!)

So I've hearted it, because it was awesome really!

added to my queue ready to play when i get on.

The game itself is visually stunning, and somewhat challenging, i have no cons what so ever on this level, you mastered the creator, and i cant wait for the second instalmant.
thanks for crteating such a great level.

check out the level in my sig for F4F if you can, thanks.

+ I like the pixel style. I am sort of worried that your next level will look the same though. You may want to experiment with creating a sticker that looks like the pixel materials but is another color than red, blue, and brown.
+ The music was good and appropriate.

In next level I'm trying to try use less red pixel material, and more brown/yellow.
I shall do crazy experiment if I can make pixel stickers with bright *insert any color here* light and photo it.
    Hope they end up ugly.
Left you some feedback on your F4F level BTW.

    Played it and loved it

I'm actually pretty bad at platforming (odd ofr a LBP fan i know) but i managed to complete it, loved the style, subtle use of camera, and overall feel. Nothing I would change

I saw this level in your sig and it looks nice. I'm a huge fan of the arcade-like art style so it's queued for later tonight.

Feedback: This level was a LOT of fun! The gameplay was great and challenging. Maybe because I was just playing with a friend though.
The visuals were superb. The use of the three pixel check materials made the level look awesome and really cool. I also enjoyed how you incorporated some light holo material with it.
The main character looked pretty well-designed, but the console kitty body felt a little out of place.
Nice work, can't wait for part 2.
