    Default NASCAR Daytona 500

I've finally finished my first LBP2 level! I've tried to make a really authentic NASCAR experience. You can choose from Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Denny Hamlin or Kyle Busch's cars, and I've added a mechanism so that when you're close behind another car, your speed increases - just like drafting!

Just in time for the real Daytona 500!

Even though I'm not a huge fan of NASCAR, I am a huge fan of this level!
The introduction was cool, the way you showed the controls was really neat.
The racing was solid, but thetrack could use a little bit more detail. Maybe like some trees or other cars and audience members on the outside or something.
    Overall, well done!

You're right, just in time for the Daytona 500. You couldn't have timed your release better

I had a go by myself just to see how it felt and the level felt great. I could see myself having some fun with friends and next time I'm with someone I'm heading back to play it again. The controls felt good and can't wait to see how they feel racing side by side with someone. I can probably imagine quite a bit of tweaking went into the speed and turning. I also liked the driver select screen. Not a fan of the available drivers but that certainly won't affect my opinion of your game

Like Jake said, some detail goes a long way and could really make it look nicer. Believe me, I learned that lesson from lack of detail in my first level.

I just queued this level. If you could do the same for mine, that would be great!

Thanks for the feedback! Detail is always my weak point. When I get on later I will work on making it look nicer and I'll play your levels.

Hey played this with my brother and hearted it for its replayability (if thats a word)! Some suggestions though would be to make the curved part of the track smoother (I know the LBP circle sucks when you make it too big, what I do is get the thin ellipse and cut into the straight parts which can give you a perfect circle) cos my car got caught a bit when i got too close. And like every1 else the scenery too! well its not really a big deal but more colourful detailed levels make playing more fun (Try filling in the pit stop, putting in trucks etc and sackbot crowds if they don't take up too much memory). Anyway great job as its good fun and hopefully it'll get more plays!

Thanks for playing! I'm working on the level right now - and I actually made the walls smoother just before I saw your reply! I'm currently working on the scenery, and I think it's looking quite a bit better now. Hopefully I'll be able to publish the improvements before the end of the evening.

hey just played your level! here were my pros and cons:
    pros:
nice beginning, it had that nascar feel to it nicely!
explaining controls was good, I like the use of an actual controller to show
pretty solid gameplay when I was driving

    cons:
could just be preference but the level felt really empty and bland visual wise, i think with some more details and crowd sound effects would make it feel more alive
I don't know if this is even possible but if it is I think what would make this level even more fun would be to have it so the further down you press the trigger the faster you go up to a certain speed, again not sure if this can be done but would add some more dynamics
If your level gains decent popularity(I hope so bud!) I would suggest adding more driver choices, and bot racers would also be cool!

but overall I liked it , keep up the good work!

if you would be so kind as to check out my level Holan Wars 1: The Beginning, it's in my signature, thanks!

Unfortunately, I don't think pressure sensitivity can be done The nearest I could get is that the longer you hold down the trigger, the faster the car goes.

I've now updated the level, it has much improved scenery, smoother walls, better collisions with walls and crowds (with noises). It's much better now, thanks to everyone who left feedback.

I'll now get to work on playing everyone's levels

    feedback being returned
    controls perfect
    track looks great

i say adding some AI cars would be nice if possible
    and the intro was beautiful
timer just needs to cancel as soon *** everyone finishes picking a car. though timer is short enough waiting isnt to big of a problem

I tried this, but since there's a different number of car-choosers depending on the number of players, it would be hard to get working correctly. But as you said, the timer is fairly short, so I don't think it's too much of a problem.
