SO...I was at church today, and the pastor had a sermon against pride, and about who's in charge. The sermon was entitled "Who is in Charge of the Chicken?", referencing to a story about an employee who was serving food, but refused to give out more than one piece of chicken, even if it was the hungry or the famous requesting it.

It had this summary:

It's funny how quickly our own importance can go to our heads. This is an issue we all struggle with at some point. It may be on the job when someone treads on our territory, or it could be in the home when our authority is challenged.
Here in the closing verses of John 3 we discover how out view of ourselves and our view of Christ helps resolve the dispute when we find our authority threatened.

In the sermon, the title of it, a relevant image, and bullet points of importance are projected onto a board behind the stage.

Hey, don't know if any of you like the Phoenix Wright games, but I randomly stumbled upon this crossover youtube series with voice-acting and all. Fair warning, the episodes are pretty long.

Sadly, the final part is not out yet.

I don't see how a grown man can watch a show about ponies that my 7 year old sister watches and still have dignity... let alone enjoy it, unless people are just "brony" for attention.

There's nothing to explain. So many people seem to think there's some hidden meaning or joke in there - There's not.
People like the show because it's cute, it's well animated and the humour is geared towards various ages. In fact, lots of kids shows and movies have humour that isn't strictly childish so parents aren't bored out of their minds.

It's a little unusual when you first hear it, but then again, I'm 19 and I'm playing a game where a stitched doll runs through environments made out of cardboard and polystyrene fighting an evil vacuum cleaner.


I've seen a few different threads now over the past few years made by people asking what the point is. There's no top secret pony conspiracy going on. But people keep perpetuating the idea that there is.

All a matter of taste I suppose. Some love it, some would rather not look at it. I'm in the latter and scratching my head on the whole thing. For those those that love it I won't spoil their fun.

I sense your brain doesn't support male and MLP FIM at the same time.
We DO enjoy the show and we're surely not doing it for attention. (Which is mostly bad attention like your post.)

While I'm not quite fond of MLP, I have no problem with the bronies. Unless they began to impose ponies everywhere, but I don't see anybody doing that, at least in this forum. The occasional picture or reference is ok, as long as it's not forced.

I think it is because a mod wanted to merge a new thread that appeared in GC, and it ended up moving from Media to here.
