Not sure if this has even been asked in here yet, but, for those of you genuinely enjoy watching the show (i.e. not just spamming pony pics everywhere) why is it exactly that you enjoy it?

Funny, good animation, and better than most other stuff on TV (even though I watch it on YouTube!) now-a-days.

I'm surprised I can enjoy it, actually (well, most episodes anyway).
I like the lulz, and the characters are pretty interesting. The stories range from character development, to action packed, to random stuff.
I don't go out of my way to keep up with the fandom though, this thread is pretty much all I care to follow.

That's what it took to convince me.)

Anywho, yeah, its a pretty good show overall, good quality, like I said, if you really give it a chance you may see why so many people watch it because they like it.

Of course not everyone's gonna like everything, so you may still dislike it after watching it, but at least you have an actual reason other than the common "Why the heck do you guys like girlie ponies?! trololo" (not saying you're doing that, I mean that's what many do.)

Anywho yeah, If you're really willing to give it a shot, I can get you links to the episodes, so you can check it out.

S'pose I should answer my question as well.
I like it because it doesn't take itself seriously. It's chock full of horrible puns, random stuff (aka PinkiePie) happens for no reason. I guess in general it's just a fun light hearted show, something I think is severely lacking in today's entertainment. Even games, these days games are becoming more realistic more serious, that's why I love LBP and Brutal Legend (probably one of the funniest games I've played) They poke fun at themselves and are just genuinely fun, hell even MGS4 has a serious story line but throws in jokes every now and then. Life is always so serious, so there needs to be some silly to balance it

The animation, the humor, characters, lolz. It's all good. This last episode was probably the best.

To tell the truth, the only reason anyone WOULD hate it is because of it being ponies. And that is no excuse.

LBP was meant for kids, and look at it now. 18 year olds play this game. I don't see them complaining, "It's a kid's game..."

I am not here to belittle your interests, I was simply agreeing with a friend's statement and it got out of hand here and in other social networks. Okay...at the behest of Yaru and my searing curiosity about this show, i have decided I could hold it no longer: I watched the pilot. Episodes 1 and 2. The following is what happened as I watched this show.

Spoiler - An over dramatization of what went on in Laharl's head

"Well this intro is expected...Oh hey its a remix. Kinda neat."

"Whoa, a story!? I haven't watched a recent cartoon in the west with a story in a long time! But...they're ponies...Isn't this show for little kids? I mean, yeah. My little sister was into this, but...Gaaah. I wonder what's going to happen next..."

(It should be mentioned I was blushing in embarrassment the whole time and smiling because I was confused and lauging at myself for watching this.

"Ouch. Forced to make friends. That can't be good. I bet they'll all be annoying too, and like...get along. Oh well. It's for kids. *shrug* Better than most kids shows...Ugh, pride...kicking in....BUT I HAVE TO WATCH."

"No way. She looks better with the emerald than the ruby--WHY AM I THINKING THIS!?"

"This hyperactive pony whose name I forgot is probably the best character ever. I think I like the main character more though...NO THEY'RE PONIES. I MUST NOT BECOME ENTRANCED BY THEIR SPELL."

"Phew. Part 1 ended on a cliffhanger. Lol. "It will be night time FOREVER!" This show's pretty cheesy. Wait...why is my mouse going for part 2!? No! I can't...!! -part 2- Ooooh...this just got serious."

A few minutes into the episode my friend looks at my computer. "What are you watching--" "I'M NOT WATCHING ANYTHING! YOU DONT SEE ANYTHING." "But...I can read the title." "Alright look, my friend Yaru made me watch this cause he said it was good and this LBP website was making a fuss about it and I wanted to see why it was so good and here I'll show you but for some reason this show is really good and--" "Dude don't worry. I won't tell anyone." "Tell anyone I enjoyed this and I will gut you."

And now back to the ponies.

"It's so obvious which element each pony is getting. Ooh, manticore. He's such a softie."

"Why is she singing....WHY IS THIS ENTERTAINING!?"

"Hah, I should have expected an ending like this. "THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP AND LOVE CONQUERS ALL!" Oh God, what has become of me!?"

And that's how I become converted to the ponies. And you, Yaru, are to blame. As well you LBPC. It's all your fault. You had better feel responsible.

I...am converted.

Any amount of pride that I have ever had or accumulated has left. Can someone please explain to me why this show was so good?

Quick question... Were or are you a past/present fan of The Powerpuff Girls?

Another... Do you like good animation, funny humor, and good shows?

Secretly yes, I loved the Powerpuff Girls. I saw every episode. Yes I love good animation and humor. And I love a good show.

I never liked the show as much. I thought it was too girly (ironic, right?). I did like this movie, though:

I loved watching it when it was released. Of course, I love Christmas a lot, so that explains things.

I'd already recognized a bunch of voices from a bunch of shows (I tend to do that anytime I watch shows, dunno why.) but I'm at blank atm.

Incorrect! Twilight Sparkle is voiced by Tara Strong, also known as Timmy Turner. BUT on Foster's, she does the voice of Terrence, Mac's brother (which is pretty scary).
Frankie is voiced by Grey DeLisle, also known as Azula from Avatar, Vicky/Tooty from Fairly Oddparents, and Mandy from Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy.
And Buttercup is not the same voice actor as Rainbow Dash. BUT Rainbow Dash and Applejack share the same voice actor, in case you didn't know.

The other MLP voice actors aren't known for anything else, really, which is surprising considering how good they are.
