Isn't it a bit early to start on marathons? After all there's still a few months left.

I think I'll be sticking around with the fandom; they've come up with some pretty lulzy stuff, and it seems there's some amazing works in the pipeline.

Unfortunately, I don't know the deal about this whole gyrobowl thing.
Was it just because there were a lot of ads for the gyrobowl during the live screening? (I didn't see it live, I was at work).

Idk, but man it was fun, one of the rooms (They were showing the marathon in 2 rooms simultaneously for lack of user space.) was full at 100 people consistently for up until like 2Am, chat was very lively and fun if I may say so myself.
They aired all of the episodes + a lot of Pony PMVs, one ended with a whole hour of "Myonmyonmyon"
The other one kept repeating the last ep and Flutterrage continuously and finishde with the Myonmyonmyon later on, overall it was prety fun.
(Also, those guys usually make marathons every now and the, so making onne on season finle is not really that odd. )

Oh and yes, they gyrobowl thing boomed because they showed commercials about it during the airing of the last episode, that's pretty much it, the guys decided to make images about it and BAM, gyrobowl is now a meme.

Oh, that's kinda old, it was something about going to some event with your parents to a store I believe and participate in some stuff and you get a Special DVD with the episode "The Ticket Master" that also was dubbed in Portugese i believe, this as far as I know was the 1st episode of MLP FIM dubbed in another langhuage, and i must say, sounds pretty good.

Excuse the double post, but...This is kind of big news.
Lauren Faust announced on her deviantART page that she will be no longer working on the show during Season 2. She stated that she is now the Consulting Producer (instead of the Executive Producer) and her contributions will be no more than story concepts and scripts.
Here's the all the info.

What a way to end Season 1...I hope the show doesn't change too much. I mean, I doubt it will, but...still...

Aww, and season 2 is gonna be even more rushed than season 1(Season 1 was said to be a bit rushed, and season 2 is apparently gonna be a bit more rushed.), tho she says its gonna be by the same other people that worked on it, so hopefully they can keep it as good as season one.

No, I think she meant it was getting impossibly difficult to keep up with the amount of work. Like maybe, she doesn't have enough time to be able to involved as much as she used to. I wonder what she's doing now, if she's not that involved with this show?

Well anywho, I wouldn't worry too much either.
Like she said, she didn't had "too mcuh" control of what happened later in the series, yet the last episodes were still pretty awesome.

I mean, come on guys, sure Faust made it awesome, but there's other people that helped make it awesome, it still have the same writters and such, not to mention they're all under pressure to make it live up to season 1's success, so even if not as awesome, I'm positive its still gonna be pretty good.

Season 2 Updates - The World Isn't Over

I have received a whole pile of emails amending/staving off various rumors, so lets throw them all into one big post!

If you read nothing from this post, please at least realize, Lauren Faust stepping down does NOT mean Friendship is Magic is doomed. One person didn't create this show, I thought I made that clear in the other post, but I think most of you skipped that and went straight to comments (Which I should be prepared for by now! )

This is a long one, It will all be after the Page Break

First off, I didn't think people would outrage so hard at Lauren Faust no longer heading the show. She brought it to us and implemented it, but that doesn't mean she did everything. The entire team made the show amazing, and I highly doubt that will change in seasons to come. Why would they destroy something that works so well?

Second, She still has some say in the direction of everything as a consulting director. Her DA journal was a bit misleading near the end, at least from what I have gathered from all these emails. Season two is still largely affected by her.

Now on to various responses from people that work on the show!

First off, we have an layout Artist who posts on the Allspark forums. Here is a direct quote!

"I've known about this for a while now, was wondering when the news would finally break. Now before people go all gloom and doom, I'd like to point out that she is still doing a lot of what she did in season 1. She's still heavily involved in the pre-production of season 2 (story and scripts), she'll just be less involved in the post-production. This really won't have any impact on the production.

To clarify what Kreoss was talking about in his blog, no 7 episodes are not complete, he's talking about watching animatics, essentially storyboards with the recorded dialogue from the voice actors. Layout starts later this month, and animation starts next month, so it'll be a while yet before the season 2 episodes are ready. I've actually seen more of the animatics than he has at this point, and season 2 is shaping up to be AMAZING."

The past few hours have been filled with various tweets about the future of the show, all positive, I'd suggest hopping over there and checking it out just for some reaffirmation.

So you can stop freaking out! Season two will still be the amazing pile of pony fun we have come to love over the past few months. It may not be as heavily influenced by Ms. Faust, but I'm pretty sure a year of working with her probably rubbed off at least some on the rest of the crew.

And I will be more careful with headlines! We all learned something!

Season 2 Update Part 2!

Class is now in session! Newly graduated Derpy Hooves is here with some important information for everypony!

Lauren Faust has posted a clarification on her DA page for those of you who are confused as to what will be going down in the future.

Here is a direct quote...

"*clarification: Story concepts and writers' meetings were completed several weeks ago, so my role is complete. I am not currently working on this show in any capacity at this time. Sorry for the confusion. While I'm at it, folks are asking if I left to work on another show. This is not the case. I had no other projects in the works when I stepped down."

So, what we can gather from this:

• Lauren Faust is technically done with MLP
• Season 2 is still primarily her doing, at least when it comes to laying the groundwork for the episodes
• Season 2 is further along than we expected! Hurrah!

What this means for Season 3 on the other hand is still up in the air, but like I said in the last update, after working under someone for over a year... don't you think most of the creative inspirations and ideas probably rub off on everyone else? I would be very surprised if season 3 is a huge difference than what we currently have.

Anyway hope that clarifies everything for you all!

"Her role in season 2 (to my understanding) is the same as season 1. A kind of 'Where's Waldo' visual gag for the fans. Instead of being edited into the scenes in post production she's actually showing up in the storyboards. I don't know if she will get an official name or speaking lines, but the Derpy joke scenes are now being planned out ahead of time instead of just thrown in as we go. I'm certainly not in the decision making process, this is just what I'm seeing from my perspective. "

So, ya, she was still involved in the planning and writting and all that of season 2, so it shouldn't be as different oas season one, so that's good news!

Also, no, that post is not a confirmation of a 3rd season, they mean IF there is a season 3, that's when it may be slightly different.

So in other words, she was more involved during the beginning of Season 2 and was gradually less and less involved towards the end. Right now, she isn't involved with the show at all.
I trust that the animators and writers and all those people will do a great job...There are plenty of twitter posts from various people working on the show that confirm they're staying positive about things and can do just as well without Lauren Faust.

But on another note, I'm not worried at all. To be honest, she said she trusted the animators herself, and I think she's right. So far, my favorite story writers are still staying (or so I believe) and one of the animators "leaked" info on season 2, and it sounds great! So yeah, it's a tragic loss, but we'll still live.

4chan's actually harder, depending on what you post and which mod spots it. I only got banned once from that place, and it was only because the mod hated ponies, so I got banned for, and I quote, posting in a pony thread (3 day ban).

As for Ponychan, it's a 3 day ban (ironic, huh?), so no worries. But as for the material itself, I'd rather not talk about it.*
