The Temple of the Golden Cat

Summary
Well this is my second level and the first one I build with my wife. Lots of hours of hard work were put into this so I hope you all enjoy it. Almost all the assets are original with the exception of a few trees. Please note the custom creatures and the final puzzle :P
The objetive of the stage is to venture into the jungle and find the long lost Golden Cat. Sackboy is not alone on his journey though, his good pal and local guide Demostenes is with him to give him advice.
Don't forget to heart it (and me :P) if you enjoyed it. It means a lot to have some positive feedback and motivates us a lot to keep making levels.

A very original feel for a pretty worked theme. There's a good feeling you get when you play a level that just seems to work. This is one of those levels. Everything was very nicely done, and the cats were pretty cute as well. It definitely earned a heart from me, good job.

Ah I found it, let me play it and give you some feedback.
Ok, very good level, I just saw one problem in the whole thing, real easy fix, after you open the door that has the switch on it, the furthest layer in the back has a gap in the floor, so I wanted to check if there was a secret down there, but I fell down out of the level, I'm pretty sure that wasn't suppose to happen. Hope you know what I'm talking about.
Other then that, good level, everything worked, the difficulty is really balanced, it's one of those things that goes has you die once or twice, but you finally get it the third time and you move on, lot's of checkpoints in well placed spots. Good story, good theme, 8/10 Overall.Last edited by Whaaaaale; 11-30-2008 at 02:32 AM.

@Cloud
Thanks for hearting, the wife was quite happy to hear you liked her cats XD
@Whaaaaale
You are right, I found that gap but instead of fixing it I made it a secret passage :P It's not up yet, I'm fixing other issues, but please check it out when It's online

I agree with most of what has already been said so I will not leave a wall of text here but there is one more important thing I need to mention: that cats are sitting on slabs of dark matter that stand out for all the wrong reasons. This is easily fixed so I hope you make the change.
I loved the traps, especially the mini-shurikens, very cool. The cats were great and there was a lot of polish. Great work

how would you fix the dark matter? We made them that way so we could just copy them in order to not rise the thermometer too much (it's over 95% :P) but still be able to change their angle.

You can color the dark matter with a sticker. Please not that some stickers will NOT change the color of the dark matter but some will so it really is trial and error. I would suggest doing a custom sticker with the material used to make the cats and see if that works. Otherwise plain black would look much better then that deep sea green

Oh and one more thing. Your level is full of custom content so why not give the same treatment to the trees? Just a thought...

Good idea, I'll try it when I get home. At first I wanted everything to be custom but one afternoon I arrived and she had already placed the trees... how could I argue
I think those two trees are the only non-custom content, even the other trees at the beginning are custom. Maybe we'll change them but since they are so well designed even if I remade them they would look similar so I don't know if it's worth it

Lol. Although my wife did not help in the creation of my level, my obsession with finishing it caused a couple of argumentsshe had already placed the trees... how could I argue
Have a look at it when you get a chance and leave a thought or two on my thread, thanks.

That was a very funky level. I really liked the art design and the platforming, though complex and tricky, was very cool.
Just one question though... there is a secret bit that has a low celing and spikes on the roof and floor, and then a prize bubble in sight... but I can't work out how to get past the spikes. Am I missing something?Levels published: A journey through a digestive tract; The TSR - Three Stage Rocket - an entry into "Set the Scene" contest.
The How to series: How to make a monster give out more points; How to make a permanent switch ; How to make Magic Mouths work in different ways
Current project: The Good Ship Prometheus
Read my blog. :P

To get past the spikes you just need to press the jump button lightly, since it's pressure sensitive, the longer you press it, the higher you jump. I will upload soon a video with the full level covered :P

I republished the level with a couple of bugs fixed and a new secret area (the one OCK found)
Also, I just updated the first post with a video, it's pretty bad quality but I hope it motivates more people to play my level or help those looking for the three secret areas.
