I have about 3-4 friends out of 16 who make cool things/levels. It's really sad how 3/4 of the LBP community has no talent or are little kids. I also have friends to try to make stuff but fail miserably. Ex: *Makes a block with a controlinator that shoots 4 different projectiles* "Man this is INSANE!" It's really not <:L

How many of your friends actually make GOOD stuff?

Well... considering that talent is generally thought of to be "special" because not many people have it... I don't know why this surprises you or anyone else? The majority of people in this world are not creative, artistic, or talented, in any special way. It's why artists, actors, musicians, etc. get paid so well to do the entertaining things they do... along with the people who manage their careers, promote them, and generally ride on their coat tails.
I suppose you could also look at your own creative talent comparatively speaking on your friends' list, and wonder where you fall in that 3/4... seeing as art is subjective and all. It could very well be that those 3-4 friends of yours would say that your work is not really "good" and that it's kind of sad that there are people like you and kids on here making levels and stuff. Not that that's the case, just illustrating a point.
We'd have to really nail down a definition of "Good" in order to have any kind of meaningful conversation that we could all agree on here. What you think is good, I might think is mediochre at best, so it really comes down to who's on your friends list to a large degree as well. I mean, it's like that kid in his group of friends that is a little slow that everyone makes fun of. If you don't have one in your group of friends, it probably means you're it. Same thing goes for art.
As for me... I really don't have a ton of friends on LBP. Of the 10 or so names I have, I barely even talk to or play with most of them. Most of my time is spent creating. Out of those friends, I'd say only two or three stand out to me as creators who's work visually stimulates me. The rest are all logic people... who's work logically stimulates me. There's a very few who fall into both of these categories.
I guess I never really paid attention to why they are friends... they just seem like nice people who I get along with and are either like minded, or we have something we can offer each other creatively speaking. I try not to judge anyone based on anything other than how they treat me, and how they think.... not how good they are at creating.
PS. I still don't know how to pronounce your name. There is no discernable difference between dontah and don-ta. So... is it actually supposed to be pronounced with a long "A" or a short "A" sound? Is it more like Dante?

..
Here's what I think... and you can quote me on this. (aka - Rustbukkit's Quotables)
If you aren't having fun... you're doing it wrong!
You just think I'm opinionated because your opinion differs from mine... and is wrong.
Every day, I learn to hate logic a little bit more. I'm what you might call a "Logitard".

LBP didnt been made in mind that every user will create, same as YouTube didnt been made in mind that everyone will upload videos, maybe it will will sound strange but main component of LBP is ability to play a game not to create levels for it, same YouTube was mainly made to watch videos not to upload them.
I recommend to watch this: http://video.bafta.org/services/play...d=639675418001Tired of answering same questions from people.... answer them down on LBPWiki where everyone can see them!|LEVELS: TETRIS
|OBJECTS: Numeral logic components
|TUTORIALS: BCD calculator
|Next project: Paaaaaaarrrrty!... in LBP2

I dont really have any real friends on littlebigplanet, because I cant really play online. there was an online game and someone on there had littlebigplanet2 so we became friends, but he sort of forgot about me, the other one is because im a beta tester for a level, and the other one i dont really know to much because of the loading screen bug.
there all pretty good at creating, actually.

I hang out in circles where everyone creates, so about 3/4 of my friends are decent creators

It depends what you mean by friends, like people on my friends list, or true friends? I have a few famous creators on my friends list, who are obviously great, but I dont really hang out with them. The ones I do hang out with often really arent though.

Technically, wouldn't you be one of those "talentless" compared to your frends that can actually make "Good" stuff?
Its all based on perspective and what you've seen.
Besides, as long as you're having fun with what you build, then what should you or they care if others think its "good."
I pity more the people that can build well, but don't really like it, yet just do it because they feel they have to...
I trully wish there were more of those "talentless, but fun" players than the ogh so many "Good but forced" players, tbh.

I have to agree with leon on everything, I dont understand so many things around lbp lol, but all my friends make good stuff, anything they love to do is good, saying that other people dont make good stuff is just...idk anyway atleast thats my opinion i dont wanna offend anyones opinion.
I create for my gf, not most of the time, "everytime", if my friends think it isnt good, I really dont care, shes the one thats supposed to like it, not anyone else.
Some people just..take things to seriously and lose it, I would know../been thereLast edited by Bloo_boy; 04-03-2011 at 09:35 PM.

About 70% of my friends make extremely awesome stuff. The rest I just added because....I dunno....I just like to give people a chance, even if I've never heard of em before.

Hum, I always try to make things, but it is always about a concept, such as controlling a ship with the Sixaxis, having two sackbots and alternating, press-the-button games, etc.
I always end up leaving things behind, because once I know how the logic will work, I never find out how to make a game with it. Weird.
I need help to make a level that starts, plays and ends. I have concepts, but I don't know how to play them.
This is sad, since my friend made only one level and he got the create trophy. He just made a Wipeout level, and it worked. It is actually the greatest wipeout level I've played. I have 22 friends on my list, I know in true life 4 or 5 of them, I more-or-less know 2-3 others, I don't really know the others. I guess I have 10 of them (or more) with LBP or LBP2, and about 2 of them are good. (One made the wipeout, one is making a pac-man (he is good with LBP logic)
Some I can't tell, I don't know them enough

The people who make lame stuff are more this game's target audience than the relatively few who bust their butts creating epic levels just for the love of it.

Not a single one of my PSN friends. One person made a level that was just a block of wood on some fire with a scoreboard, the other two have never made anything but they've tried to before. None of them really know the tools and stuff to determine how to create a level, but that just lets me look good in front of them because I know more than them.
