I think the PSN has been attacked by hackers, Anonymous; http://www.complex.com/tech/2011/04/...ebsite-network
I was playing online and downloaded the LBP2 update 1.03, when I was forced to sign out and recieved the 80710092 error for the last 2 days. What's odd is that I put another game in and recieved a 1.03 update for that as well even though it wasn't plugged into the internet and all the updates were already installed. I looked at some of my friends profiles on LBP.Me who I know are in the US and they haven't been online either.
Could a virus have been sent to all systems over the PSN? has anyone one else seen a game update 1.03 for games other than LBP2 over the last 2 days?

hmmm... I've been having trouble signing into the playstation network for the past two days. It wasn't until this post though that I realized that I was having this problem only AFTER downloading the update 1.03 on Friday night. I wonder if they could be connected? I just assumed that since it was the weekend, maybe the network was overloaded with people or something. I've been trying to sign into the Asia Playstation network btw.

I've been able to get on with no problems, not sure what's been going on.
Also, anon stopped DDOS'ing the PSN a while ago.

I was forced out of PSN while installing the LBP2 update 2 days ago as well. what was strange was I had the same update with a different game when I wasn't connected to the PSN and didn't need an instal. I am not sure if they are connected...
I can't seem to connect to sonys website to get info http://www.us.playstation.com/
Can annyone else log onto it?My Advice 3.2 - An Idea tutorial http://lbp.me/v/y5xzhn/photos

If that error appears in LBP2, you have to shut off your PS3 completly, meaning flip the button on the back too. That should fix it.

The update has perminently disabled me from the PSN. Even though I am not connected it still downloads updates?

well I don't think we can be 100% sure this is due to the update. I've turned my PS3 completly off, reset my router etc and still have the problem. Looking online though there are tons of people who have been having problems since this the weekend began. However, they don't mention LBP2 at all. Hopefully the problem will get cleared up soon. I was all ready to publish this weekend and now can't get on
haha maybe it's the gods of LBP's way of telling me to do more bug testing on my level :P

- Oh noes, we're under super haxor attack!
Hide your Headsets and controllers, turn off the tv, hinde under whatever you can hide under, they'll keep hacking until everyone's systems are destroyed!!!!
- Oh why oh why!
* Wait....wheren't hakers not really doing anything...?
- Oh...right, I knew that.
* So why'd you freak out and jump to conclusions with no info or evidence to base your statement on?
- ...well they're haxors, they're evil and wanna destroy everything and put viruses everywhere, right?!
* There is deifnately noooo way it could be anything else, so you just jump to conclusions right away?
- Yup.
* So how exactly is it that I've heard no reports of this even if it was 2 days old?
I'm sure something this big would be all over the internet by now.
- Idk...maybe I was the first one?
* You just said it was 2 days ago...
- Oh...oh yeah.

^Joke
v Post.
I highly doubt it was any sort of virus, m8, like said in the joke, those kinda things would spread throught the internet faster than good memes, I'm pretty sure its most likely some sort of connection issue, random accidents tend to happen like that.
Heck, I recall something similar happened to me once, where alo during an update, I got an error and signed out, after that I wasn't able to log in, 2 days later I find out it was some random error and I just had to move my DSN adress up or down by 1 and eerything was fixed. xD
(Don't ask me why or how, even I don't know.
)
Anywho, I would relax if I were you, no worries, if there's a major hacker attack you'll know it, in the meantime just google the error code (Yes, each code has a meaning.) and see if there's solutions for it, but it should be able to be fixed unless its something like a ban or something.
Actually, I went ahead and googled it myself, one of the 1st results says as follows:
Supposedly that worked for a few people, maybe it works with you?FIX FOR PSN Error 80710092
Do what others have said and change your DNS to 8888 and 4488 Now go to videos and log into ps store through videos and it will log you in. Next exit the store and Enjoy playing w.e game you want.
Hope that helps!

Nice reply Silverleon!?! I don't think it's that far fetch to believe that a group of hackers sucessfully sent a virus throughout the playstation network who said they would shut it down, and have done so with other big companies. Especially within a couple of weeks of reports saying that they shut down the playstation network on previous attempts. Also, the playstation blog was shut down which would provide info on the networks status. The DNS solution that has worked for others is something I tested before I even posted this thread, and it didn't work.
I am not saying the sky is falling, I am asking other players if they are experiencing the same problems as I have been since the 1.03 update/Friday...Last edited by hungryhippo; 04-18-2011 at 11:32 AM.

I can get into PSN since the LBP2 update, but I have to do it manually. Asking it to sign me in automatically just sits there for ages doing nothing. Hopefully it's fixed soon.

The update process always logs you out of PSN temporarily - that's just the way it works. There's almost certainly no correlation between the update and the 80710092 error.
That's a little stranger - I mean you don't have to be signed into PSN to get game updates, but you do have to have an active internet connection.
Possible, but it's so insanely unlikely that it's more plausible that you were abducted by aliens who reprogrammed your brain to make you think all these things happened.
Basically, it would require compromising several security systems, including cracking encryption keys which would take several billion years by brute force.
Although if you're running a custom firmware with the security disabled, it would be much simpler.
FWIW, I've had no problems since 1.03.My Levels
