So, I was wanting to take a picture of my sackboy wielding a paintinator gun again as the LBP2 pictures seem to be of higher quality than the LBP1 pictures, so I decided to "upgrade" that picture. But I was halted by the discovery of me not holding the paintinator gun. Take a look at these pictures.
This is an old picture I have taken back in LBP1.
Now here's one I have taken in LBP2.
Telekinetic paintinator holding!
Well, so much for making a better picture, but really, MM should probably do something with this. It's not game breaking but it's still annoying.
Now I can imagine that after people have noticed this, they're going to be bothered by this as well I'll bet.

Did you just press "L1 or R1" while in sticker-placing mode?
It will turn the character as if to place the stickers like it usually does, but it will not turn the paintinator with it, its actually been there since LBP1, wouldn't worry too much about it.

Wouldn't it reset the sackboy after leaving the sticker placement though?
I don't really recall doing it at that time, actually.Last edited by Emperor.Vagak; 05-22-2011 at 10:47 PM.

You can go ahead and check out my recently taken photos on LBP.me, there's more than that one.

Yes, the old picture is on top, but I haven't actually bothered to upload it until my discovery. Note that the hand isn't even holding the paintinator gun in here.Last edited by Emperor.Vagak; 05-30-2011 at 04:40 AM.
I am Vagak. You will proceed to look at me as just another brick on the wall unless I somehow got popular in one way or the other. Call me yet another pessimist of LittleBigPlanet.

Something similar happens on DCS, where sackboy does not not hold onto the the things he is suposed to hold onto

The same happens when you take a picture of a sackboy grabbing something, instead of the two hands clasping about the object the picture comes out as if the saack is reaching out in a sort of "Thriller" / zombie pose.

Huh. So it's pretty much involved with everything concerning taking a picture? Weird.
I'll probably put further investigation into this as soon as my TV isn't occupied I guess.

Update: I took a picture right away in a special camera room I made a day or two ago when I decided to fiddle with a different costume of me holding the paintinator.
I definitely recalled me holding the paintinator gun right there. But when I took the picture...

It has my hand facing forward rather than holding the gun.

Here's another picture with me facing the gun instead of the screen. I'm not holding the gun there either. My hand is behind the gun...
As for what crossiantbuncake said, he is right, although it isn't necessarily a thriller styled pose; it's just me standing there.

As for the controllinators, I barely noticed it, but it seems my hands are a little further forward before/after picture taking.

And with that, the conclusion is that taking pictures is slightly glitched concerning grabbing things and holding paintinators. Otherwise, the paintinator animations seem fine in regular gameplay. I wonder if MM could fix the picture issue though.Last edited by Emperor.Vagak; 05-25-2011 at 05:25 AM.

Well, in my case the pose probably was due to the bot looking at the grabbed item, which was a piece of grabbable invisible holo.
Also, in the case of the pic where your hand is behind the gun, your other hand seems to have moved inside the box of the torso piece of your costume.
Incidentally, this reminds me of something I reported in the beta but never checked if it had been fixed. In LBP1, when you aimed the paintinator it retained the last angle you selected. In LBP2 it would snap to certain angles making it more difficult to line up shots.Last edited by croissantbuncake; 05-26-2011 at 02:53 PM.

I think it may have something to do with my costume or just simply the first player possibly. My brother joined in while I was making my level and I decided to snap him holding the paintinator. He actually was holding it.
I took a picture of a sackbot with my costume, and he, however was not holding the gun.
Pff, I guess I could get to the bottom of this and tell this to MM. But my voice will probably be drowned, so I'm not going to bother.Last edited by Emperor.Vagak; 05-30-2011 at 04:43 AM.
