The Hero (aka: Emo) hair serves an essential purpose in contemporary youth culture. It allows plain, average kids with unremarkable personalities who have been spoiled and pampered by loving parents, to believe that they are actually cool, edgy and alternative. Depite the fact that several million kids around the world share the exact same image, the Hero hair helps these needy, attention seeking individuals to delude themselves that they are somehow defining their personal and social identity in an individual manner. Like the emperor with his new clothes, it doesn't matter that everyone else is nudging ribs and laughing in ridicule, because these kids feel special and that's all that matters.

I hate this hair because people outside of lbp or ps3 probaly think we all walk around wearing it. I know almost every lbp vid ive watched on youtube has a hero hair wearing sack. Like someone said above we need more male hair styles for people that want to make their sackboys/girls look like people. (i'm not one of them)

While I find it annoying, I just ignore it. But I see why you hate it. It's annoying to constantly find yourself joining 3 people all with the same hair.
Also on LBP emos... Anyone who's acting emo in LBP, A silly ,child friendly , game with all these little raggedy dolls playing and creating levels is obviously taking things too seriously. To quote a great man.
"Why so serious?"

I don't really care.
In fact, it can come in handy for making certain costumes.(Like Ragna from BlazBlue and others)
WHAT WE DO NEED IS a police officer hat or something.
Imagine someone trying to do a WWII re-enactment and they're had nothing to use for the Japanese or German sides, except the Farmer's Cap...
But, really, with the subject matter, I don't care.
Let them be who they are.

Wearing the 'Hero' hair, to me, is like someone using apostrophes incorrectly. Whilst this doesn't seem like a major irritation, inside I die a little and yearn for the days where everyone could be normal.

I'll wait.
I know some people might say the same things about Silent Hill and horror fans, calling them "emof**s" or something.

IronSkullKid99, (and anyone else who wanted to check) this is Vampire Freaks. Click "new pics" and get ready to punch some walls. (Some of the photos are nice, though. Some.)
I use Will Turner hair for all of my male characters, and recently I've been experimenting with how I might be able to use the marmalade cat headpiece as some type of hair. I've attempted to use the Sophie hair (or whatever it was called) for males, but the headband is too pronounced on it.
The Happie hair works well, and you can sticker it and put a hat on it. I don't recall if it turns shiny when you sticker it, though. I don't think it does.

I saw a guy with RL Hero Hair, same style and everything, while I was at work today. The universe must be trolling me.

It's their way of expressing themselves. So what if many people use it?
They shouldn't be denied the right to dress however they want just because it's overused. I mean, I see many people use the Ringmaster Hat and the Helghast Mask and even Cat Ears in excess and you don't hear them complaining. Is it because the Hero Hair to them looks all "emo"-ish? I am not the slightest "emo" (blegh, I hate that word; so negative) and I think that the Hero Hair is cool. Do I use it alot? No. But should I downplay someone if they are? No.
They have the right to wear their hair as much as I have the right to wear my tophat."It's better to be a has-been that a never was."

and I think the "Hero Hair" will come in handy for making costumes.
I enjoy the horror genre too and am I emo, because of that?
Of course not, because I'm not slitting my wrists or crying.
I accept that we live in a Crapsack world(pardon my TvTropes) and just take it like a man.
One of my friends, "slydaniels" always wears the Sly Cooper costume, but you know what? He enjoys the Sly games and I even enjoyed both inFAMOUS games myself.
Another one of my friends like to "crossdress' sometimes and I don't really care and he even wears the Hero Hair.

I do get agrivate when I see all those pictures of people wearing it, but I don't hate the hair. when I first saw it ages ago I wanted it because it looked pretty good, and it does work for a character of mine I made a costume of. But I never wear it myself, and found it to be very useless the moment I found out you couldnt wear hats with it. Quite the load of bull.

I have been watching this thread, and I am ofended. Call me a noob, just because i like to wear it. Just know that I Got the pack for stickers, but when I found the hair, I liked it. Also, I do NOT wear it because of everyone elce, i do NOT wear it because im "EMO" I do NOT wear it because of the STEROTYPICAL people everyone (But Jack and a few others) saying who wears it. I only wear it because i like it. So when you see me online, say what ever you want. Who ever that person says, all he or she is doing is makeing LBP a worse place to come to, for everyone.
To Outlaw, I cant agree more. ITS A GAME! What do you care about some person that you dont know and will never know. About the comments about every single person wearing it, thats the LAST thing you should hear about. I have to deal with so meny commments everyday about how awful LBP is in general, and that LBP is for mindless 2 year olds that people older then five should not have anything to do with it. Some people that bring up the game say things that will get me banned for saying. (This is other's thoughts NOT MINE)
Everyone should be thankful that lbp has the options you have to make it your own. Some other games like Halo or call of duty, there are very limited choices if theres any.
To everyone who reads this all the way through, feel free to post on how wrong i am. I am posting this because everyone above me gets to share their thoughts, so im sharing mine.
EDIT: look at my PSN pic, thats my sackboy and i like it thats allLast edited by bikerider12; 06-26-2011 at 02:28 AM.

Fair enough, I mean, I've looked through your uploaded photos and you seem to have variety with your sackboys. I think as long as the hero hair can be adapted and donned by only one of your large roster of sackboys then that's fine. The main concern here is the people who use it as the base element of every single costume they have, and then proceed to invite friends and share this 'fashion' and eventually you have a really large onslaught of hero hair people who brag about how good hero hair is. If you can still wear hero hair besides this and not be a jerk about it, which you aren't, then you have all my apologies. The most bother comes from the negative connotations that simultaneously attach to people who wear it constantly, which you don't. I think it's basically the concept of hero hair, not people who wear it uniquely.
tl;dr - Hero hair good. Amalgam of overusing and negative connotations bad.

I never said Hero Hair was "Emo"(Blegh, Outlaw's right, it tastes weird) hair, the majority of those with Hero Hair did. I saw your pic, & I didn't get irritated. Why? Because you didn't put like 25 Sharp Decos & stupid stickers that are usually the same on it. You just left it plain & simple, like my buddy 'ol pal, Olepuh. I only hate Hero Hair when people aren't original with it & take like a bajillion photos of themselves close-up , like what Jake said:
Like I said, I liked it at some time in LBP1, but seeing almost everyone having the same style with no difference just made me quit going after it. Quoting another person, Fumet brought up a good point:I find it seriously annoying, because all these people use it to try and make their sackperson look 'original', even though, as you say, 80% of people use or have it! In my opinion, it looks kind of stupid how all these people use it to try and look cool, then kepp on taking more and more pictures of their sackperson's head in story levels as if to say 'OOH, LOOK AT ME! I'm so specia l cos I have 'hero hair'!'
I see it as any other Wig
and it has it uses if you are using it like it should be used.
I used it for my Kaiba from Yugioh costume. It is a nice looking Wig to be honest.
but only if used right.
What I Hate most is them LBP1 Cartoon eyes.
Mostly only annoying little boys ware them and it makes them look dumb.
I'll take hero hair any day of the week over Lbp1 cartoon eyes. *mew
So, basically, I only hated Hero Hair in my personal experiences, seeing everyone have it in LBP. I'll get it someday, & when I do, I'll...Uh...I'll...Um...Hmm...Don't know what the rest of the sentence is, but I'll get it someday!

I hated before I just got all this DLC, I would try to get sackbot costumes, and they would use STUPID pieces from one pack. Like.. whats the deal with that one set of teeth with the one fangs?? I like hero hair, it looks cool, but I try to not overuse it.
