I've recently been introduced to an indie game by the name Kerbal Space Program. Basically, it's a game where you build space ships and fly them. It's only in early alpha, and it's being updated. I recommend you check it out, it's tons of fun launching these things.

I am addicted, and have just bought it after 3 or four hours that i should have been sleeping's worth of building poorly planned rockets. rest assured, this is as close to rocket science as i ever intend to get.
GOOOD STUFF, says the gnome.
though i doubt it'll be everyone's cup of tea, if you like tinkering with things in LBP this is a must try.

Thanks!

Have any of your rockets managed to scare Jebediah?

Great game
Brings me back to the days of Spore some how. It gets old quick though, not very much variety to speak because the moment you start getting "creative" is the moment your rocket collapses before getting an inch off the ground. I have yet to successfully get in to orbit, some close calls though
!

You mean get into space or actually orbiting around Kerbin/the sun?Great game

To get into space you need fuel tanks and liquid fuel rockets.(Solid fuel rockets can help get you out of atmosphere) To get into orbit you have to zoom out with the map and find the circle that goes around them then start following it and turn off your engines, it should pull you into orbit.
Considering buying this since its only $15.. and only in alpha.

Yes, getting in in to an orbital. Maneuvering a rocket is tricky.

its one of those trial and error things. and make no mistake, unless you used to build rockets and/or do logistics for NASA, you WILL make A LOT of mistakes.
