    Default Who Decideds "Cool Levels"

Cause they need to be fired for most of the levels on there. Personally I don't care about the stupid "rocket car" or "rollercoaster" or "7 trophies in 7 seconds" levels, I wanna play some goooooooooooooooood levels. What gives? How do you guys find the good ones?

I think it's just how the system is set up-- for the community to decide through plays. I don't believe any one person actually chooses.

But yeah, it's a broken system that severely takes the fun out of creating.

I have occasionally seen a level with absolutely no plays at all popping up on the first page.
It should be determined by Number of Hearts, that's worth more than plays.

That's cause those are new levels... new levels show up on cool Levels for a brief amount of time as soon as they're published.

And itis a computer who decides Cool Levels from a program based on how many people play/ heart levels or whatever.

    This statement is true.

I usually use this site to find good levels- it's kinda hard to find good levels not from here.

Well some of the games on the cool levels are about 4/5 but I have noticed that the weirdest games get on there, like there was one that was about 2 seconds long -.- and it was 1/1000 in my opinion, but that is a good question Show yourself cool level maker!!!!!!!

Both valid methods. I have one buddy on my list that I always go check out his hearted levels and find good ones, then more recently I've started searching (which is a pane due to another broken system ) for levels I've found by browsing through here.

But seriously, if you just pop in and want to find good levels without searching too far, just find someone who hearts good levels, you can do this by finding creators you like and once in a while, one of those creators will turn out to be a good levels "DJ", so just check back on him everytime you want to play new stuf!

Best way, hands down, is to search the site. Check out the "Showcase" section or the "reviews" for some feedback and some descriptions on levels made by the people on the site. I love this community for the sheer fact that the people here make quality levels.

A player can only ever once heart (or not heart) a level. But everytime you start up a level, the player number count goes up by one.

So if you play a level, love it and heart it, the heart goes up by one and the play count goes up by one.

But let's say it's such a good level that you replay it 9 more times, for 10 plays total.

Then the count is risen by 10, but the heart count has still only gone up by 1.

Just something to think about... the heart to play ratio is not always a good indicator, as a low ratio could either indicate it's completely awful and no one hearts it, or it's truly awesome and people are hearting it and coming back many times.

Why dont you just look on the bright side? Like this Guy

Extract from PSM3 Magazine Issue 109:

Gee, I just love it when i spend three weeks making a level in Littlebigplanet only for it to be shunted back to page 10 of 'Cool Levels' and never played. It really makes the toil seem worth it. I also love those great 'TROPIEZ HERE!1!!' levels that dominate the front page, based entirely on the fact that they get the most plays. They really capture the spirit of the game; grasping for imaginary rewards to get one up on nobody in particular. What would really suck is if sony decided to overhaul the level selection menus. Say, making it like Youtube, with featured levels and a powerful search tool. And it would suck even harder if we could just view every level as a list with its rating next to it rather than having to spin around a globe covered in patches.
Its also really wicked how most of the levels published on LBP are barely - playable. Its great enduring the brain-splurge of a clueless American teenager, only to find that the level ends halfway through or you get stuck behind an impassible barrier. If they sorted out the community, this kind of thing would stop happening. And that would be terrible.
The Developers needn't bother fixing anything because the game is doing so spectacularly well in the charts. It has a big enough user base that they can afford to lose a few thousand fans here and there.
Not really a very helpful post. I just thought if was funny
God Said: "Let there be LittleBigPlanet!" and so there was a reason to live in this world!

Also, a level I found, which was a real gem to me, on the cool levels page before it was updated was the Ico level. Ico is one of my favourite games and it was recreated awesomely.
