Hello everybody !
Here is a new Glitch I just found 2 days ago : It allow you to make a beam of light without any lamp in your level ! ;p
Here is my video (I'm French, but you can understand by just watching what I do in the video and I will explain it right below. ^^) :
First, you have to reduce the level luminosity (turn it to night !)
Next, put a lamp in your level and tweak it as you need :
Now, put a microship on your lamp et add a destroyer tool (tweaked on "Fall apart" mode) in the chip :
Set the game into "Pause" mode ("up" on the D-Pad) and add a timer next to the destroyer, then wire the timer to the destroyer :
Tweak the timer to "0.1" for the first option and turn the lamp into gaz :
Now, turn off the "Pause" mode and the timer will activate the destroyer to destroy the lamp. You will see the lamp desappear, but its beam of light will stay in your level :
Warning : Put the lamp at the right place you want the beam to stay, cuz' you won't be able to move it after the destruction of the lamp.
There are only 2 ways to delete the beam of light :
- Press "Rewind" (left on D-Pad) or
- Delete the level (that's not really cool XD)
And voilà ! ^^
Let me know what you think about this new glitch / tutorial !
(oh and sorry again if my english is not perfect)

This is interesting since there is no source for a beam of light that can be hidden like the LED light. The inability to edit or remove it (and I assume it is also immovable) is a major turnoff to me, though. I am no perfect creator so inevitably I will need to move that beam at one point.

Thanks! This is just what I needed.
And Im jealous of your supreme bilingual skills....
I know its hard to work with but you could make this the last thing you do before publishing for easy fixingThis is interesting since there is no source for a beam of light that can be hidden like the LED light. Yes, that's not a problem because of you can let the lamp into gaz untill you finish your level. This way, the lamp still can pass through walls and be placed wherever you want. ^^

That is a good point. Also, I'd say, make a copy of the level on a different crater before removing the light source, so you at least have a version of the level that remains freely editable.

Great discovery and great tutorial.
A preview of a skateboard video. This is probably THE best skateboard video in LBP 2 as it uses a custom made skateboard and even makes great use of the 3D layer glitch.
Here's a Youtube link to my level http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_P19E8N6UQ

Thanks!
