I have been nagged lately.

Ever since i saw someone make a font out of pictures taken with the camera tool, I have been wondering how this was done. Most collected stickers are in a certain shape, taking away the idiotic rectangular limitations of a camera-taken picture. I thought that my pictures would always be limited to a rectangle until I saw these stickers made in a community fonts giveaway level. the picture was still a rectangle, but the background around the letter was transparent, not affecting the object it is placed on in any way. How do you copy this effect?

It's done by stickering it onto some holo. When ever any black appears in a sticker, it is displayed as invisible when on some holo. In this case I'd presume that they've make the letters in bright neon or something, surrounded by a black material, then a rectangular snapshot is taken. As I say, when this is pasted onto holo all you see is the letter.

An old, old glitch from LBP1. Don't count on being able to reproduce it: it only happened on old PS3's, and even then, only once in a blue moon. Basically, what happened was that a material would lose its texture and turn black, and this material would show up as transparent in pictures taken of it.

However, it looks like we'll be able to make transparent stickers as an actual feature soon...

black is invisable on holo. Ergo, black backgrounds on holo appear invisable. put 2 and 2 together

Blue Helmet IS right, and that there is a level with a bounch of community that have a transparent backrounds. One of them is the LBPC logo, where you can only see the letters. I cant find the level now for proof. The LBPc sticker is in my level Stone age... pick it up with your popit if you want proof, but the black on holo works too.

I'm looking at a font on a microchip, still with transparent background. no, the chip isnt stickered black.

Just wait for the Move pack to be released on the 14th of September. If you buy itm you'll be able to use the glorious sticker panel to create wonderful stickers.
