Awesome backgrounds Jump-Button - and yes - it IS cheating that you made them in the Beta!
See, now levels will have that "hand-painted" look - instead of that "hand-crafted" look, when everyone had to re-use the stickers that they were given in a creative way in order to achieve the look they wanted.
It's a brave new (hand-painted) world!![]()

I'd post mine, but I can't even draw a straight line with the move paint tool. I tried to make an anime face last night, and it ended up looking like the elephant man.

This is why people that are currently dismissing the Paint Tool for not being able to load screenshots will get caught behind for not taking advantage of its actual strengths.
-

I think people are aware of it's strengths and will probably get some use out of it. I'm just a little disappointed that it's not as good as it could've been. It's still a nice addition.

So your saying the paint tool, is not that good that it could be better? I dont have a move so i dont know for my self.
-

Awesome jump, that's exactly the sort of thing I'm looking to be able to create with this. I can see this eliminating much of the need to create elaborate stuff in the extra background layers...I much prefer the hand drawn visuals.

Just started a new thread on this.
Here's what I did last night.

Couldn't be bothered working on it anymore, so ignore the weird floating arm lol.:o....
My goodness, the move pack just came out, and people are already conqueringthe world with the paint tool!
I can't wait to see what else will be done with it, not to mention what I'll do with it, because i'm not quit sure what i'd do first xD
I've bought the pack ( I actually bought it by accident- it's a long story. lets just say I only had five cents in the psn wallet, and figured I couldn't actually buy the pack because of that, clicked "confirm purchase" thinking it wouldn't let me, and it magically added more money to the wallet out of my parent's checking account without warning that it would do so before hand or asking for a confirmation. Sony is so considerate.) , but I haven't gotten the move controller yet nor a ps eye.
I seriously can't wait to get my hands on one, though, so that I can try the paint tool out for myself(basically the only reason I wanted the pack, that and sticker panel), get comfortable with it, and begin the endlessly thermo-saving creation of custom stickers!
This pack is a dream come true for the artists of LittleBigPlanet; Many levels will no longer require overly complex shapes for visual artsy-ness, creating backgrounds, foilage, and characters will be 10 times easier, which means we can expect some really stunning things be churned out of the fiery, passionate dephs of the LBP community. I can but only imagine.
The edition of sticker panel + the paint tool will not only allow for brilliant static asthetics, but also animated ones aswell that were not possible to pull off properly with the horrid holo.
Some people could even create whole animated films- heck, I could try making a film, or at least a little cartoon or something. And even though it'll be time-consuming and difficult since I know little to nothing about animation, that's not gonna stop me from trying! Though,If I do attempt that, I'd like to collab with another artist- *cough*prefereablyBrembecausehe'sawesome*cough*-.

This came out weird..

One of Mona Lisas eyes, made in about 5-10 minutes.
Ninja, to make film animations you have to draw your static background, then draw all your characters and whatever else moves seperate.
A real life animated film usually runs at 24 FPS, in lbp it goes at 10fps, but I think there are ways to get faster.
That means you have to draw 10 character movements for every second of animation.

Or create a "puppet style" animation - like they do for the Move Story levels;
That'd be easiest with the new "move recording" and paintshop.
Can't wait to see what the community does with these new tools (Me included!)*The views expressed above do not necessarily reflect the views of LBPC and it's affiliated subsidiaries.

It does take some getting used to. 1% opacity, shrinking cursor down, and color scales . Gradients are your best friend.
Use the opacity/gradient cursor to make a color pallet, and you can take the color of whatever you go over and use as a midtone to help blend it into new color.
The larger the picture is the better. You can always save and shrink down later.

Yeah, I made that mistake, that my self portrait was only a "small" sticker;
I could have really done with a Zoom function for the fine detail.*The views expressed above do not necessarily reflect the views of LBPC and it's affiliated subsidiaries.

Yeh, it's great to see. I think most of the really cool LBP2 tools are so logic orientated, you end up spending more time wiring a frickin microchip than anything else, so I'm glad to see something new that harks back to the handcraft vibe of LBP1.This pack is a dream come true for the artists of LittleBigPlanet; Many levels will no longer require overly complex shapes for visual artsy-ness, creating backgrounds, foilage, and characters will be 10 times easier, which means we can expect some really stunning things be churned out of the fiery, passionate dephs of the LBP community. What is this 1% opacity I saw mentioned? Can we tweak opacity of brushes? :o

Sure, there's quite a few ways to animate at 30fps, and for a constant framerate, you can have any other value which is 30 divided by an integer. 15fps is a generally good compromise between animation fluidity and drawing effort - IIRC it's what typical animated TV shows use, e.g. The Simpsons.

I got bored of making resources for my level that keeps ending up not looking good, so I decided to take a break and do something fun with the Paint Tool.
I decided to take a shot at painting the best James Bond actor.
You were wrong, it's Timothy Dalton.
I am a little off but after leaving Paint Mode it's too late to go back to it.
