Well, I don't post often but when I do, I mean business! :P
This here is a level series I've been working on for past 4-5 months and now I've finally managed to get Chapter 1 out. Chapters 2-5 are also quite close to being done since I chose to work on entire series at the same time.. (which wasn't a good idea in hindsight!)
Anyway! Back to business!
The level features an original story about a young magician who plays a role in determining the fate of the world.
The combat system is what the level is really all about. It's a mix of realtime action and drawing gestures to cast spells. It could be best described as mix of Tales - series and Okami, should people be familiar with those titles
It's pretty long too, depending on what you choose to do out of the optional sidequests and minigames and whatnot, it can take you anywhere between 30 minutes to 1½ hours or so to complete just the first chapter.
Here's like a list of features or some such thing:
- Level up system with 45 levels.
- 10 different spells you learn over the levels.
- 5 special abilities you learn through the story.
- 3 upgradeable attributes
- Equippable accessories
- A menu to manage the above :P
- Innovative combat system with 4 difficulty settings to choose from
- A save system that saves all your progress in one chapter so you can continue with exact same stats, level, exp, quest progress etc in the next chapter.
- Artwork made by Qrii_Nakari
- Awesome music done by Velvet--Audio and Arexion
So yeah, again, special thanks to Qrii_Nakari who made some really fancy art for the level as well as helped with testing and made a couple of areas too and stuff :P
Also, of course, crazy thanks to Velvet--Audio for making awesome music for the world areas and cutscenes!
And finally, can't forget about Arexion and the battle music he made for the level!
And then some pics... everyone loves pics. Okay...

Wow that looks impressive. Brand new, and I've already heard amazing things from it (mainly from twitter). Queued up, and I can't wait to try it out.
If something I said doesn't sound fancy enough, read it again in Stephen Fry's voice.

Peeps, this is genouinely insane.
I jawdropped.
This is one of the levels that set the bar, that show what not even MM thought possible.
Not only the visuals and the overall care in every single aspect but the very mechanic of the game.
As I stated in my review, I like platformers, I think that LBP is meant for those, but this is one of those levels that makes me bite my tongue and stay silent in awe.
This is a masterpiece indeed.
I recommend to boot LBP and play this before any other level you might have queued.
Not for bias or something else, but because the levely is heavy on the memory allocation management and you might have issues loading it.

Aye, it wouldn't load for me. Well, it tried but went eventually to white screen and crashed the ps3. Omega, do you mean you have empty out your queued levels? Not heard that one before....

No, they mean to when you first log in to LBP, play this level before doing anything else.
I crashed my PS3 the first time too. It booted up the second time.
As far as the level is concerned, I think it is fantastic. An easy MMPICK. It's obvious a lot if care, heart and soul went into this project.
Congrats on your final product.

Sorry, for explaining myself bad, FairyHands
I just made it dramatic!

Cymbol said it right, you need to load LBP and play that level before playing other levels.

this level, no, it's not a level, this game is unbelievable. Gorgeous environments. Excellent story and gameplay. Just awesome. I loved it all except one teensy, tiny thing. Once I leveled up enough, the monsters that are less skilled than me, if I do battle with them I get zero XP. The only negative I can say. I can't wait for the next installment!

The level ups are always based on getting 100 exp, so as you level up, lower level monsters give less and less until they no longer give anything. The level cap for chapter 1 is 9 or maybe 10 if you do everything in correct order (optional big fights give more exp even after monsters stop giving exp!)
Once I get the 2nd chapter out, stronger monsters will be giving you some of that precious XP again
The system is balanced so that by end of chapter 5, you should be somewhere around level 35 to 45 (which is max level). I didn't want people to level up to max level in earlier chapters while waiting for the next :P
----
As for the crashing issue everyone's been having... I've spent past 3 weeks or so balancing between having content and making the level stable. It's hard for me to test since surprisingly enough the level very rarely crashes for me even if I've done alot of other things first.
I'm still working on it though, which means I may remove some content later and change some of the things because I really don't like the fact people crash on my level or have to restart LBP2 to survive the level...Last edited by Felkroth; 12-31-2011 at 06:27 AM.

I have maybe said this already really awesome in lvl's comments but I still have to say it here. It was RPG but it was like it's own game. Many side guests, people, items, level ups, boss battles, all were in that and it is incredible to think how they all are in that tiny lvl. And with your "saving system" people will get all things they have done to next chapters which is something I have never seen in LBP.
Can't wait for next chapter, have to try to beat it on higher difficulties

This is an amazing level from not just the perspective of a player but that of a creator as well. I want this level to be MM Picked, not because of the status that that holds, but because it will ensure that a large global audience of creators gets to see this master piece. I hope it will inspire them to create 'the impossible' as well and have faith and confidence in themselves.
If you are a player, you have to play this level. If you are a creator, then you cannot afford to skip this level.

I hearted the stage, but didnt have enough time to complete it yet. There was a Wii game this reminds me of, but I cant think of the name. Either way its defiantly the best RPG I played so far, i'll try to finish it later. Feels good to finally play a fleshed out RPG in LBP2--takes the pressure of me hehe jk
