i am creating my second level and was thinking of adding a cut scene at the beginning and at the end. what is the best way of going about this? i've reserved some space at the top left of the level for the cutscene, but i need to begin the level at the bottom left, what's the simplest way of doing this? i'm also toying with the idea of making it with pictures and cut outs. would that make it more difficult?

The location in the level shouldn't matter. Hard to say what would be more difficult, it depends on what will happen in the cutscene. I like to make my cutscenes with cameras on sequencer, it's just easier for me to organize that way.

Thanks!

I think what you would do is get a player sensor which senses an unspawned player, which is hooked up to the start part of the sequencer. I think this is right, but I might be wrong...

Connect a battery to the sequencer. The cutscene should start as soon as the level begins. Then when it is over it should flip straight to the starting checkpoint.

bingo!!! thanks. i wondered if it could be something pretty simple.
so even if i set the cutscene in the top left, when it ended sackboy would automatically emerge from the entrance no matter where it was?

Yes it should work that way. I've actually done it while helping a friend with a level. As a quick note though, you should probably wait until you're done with the level before connecting the battery to the sequencer. If not, the cutscene is going to play everytime you unpause, so just wait until later.

Hehe. I use a toggle - that way you can easily turn off the cutscene so it won't play if you unpause in create mode.
You probably know this, but when you overlap movie cameras on a sequencer, they will transition automatically - you don't have to connect them.

Thanks!
