From what I've seen, Whalio states his opinion then you start an argument for no good reason. He's not trying to prove a point as much as he's just defending himself.
Because sarcasm, an often tone centric way of lying, is easily detectable over the internet. It's not easy, and you won't notice it if you're not expecting it.
Like I said, he's defending himself from a very hostile aggressor. I know Whalio very well, and he's a pretty chill guy. I've seen him get in a few arguments, and he's always reasonable.
Cyber, you always make extremely serious posts then they're suddenly a joke when you're called out on your bull****. Your jokes are not obvious, nor are they funny. They just leave everyone annoyed and make you look like a complete ****.Even my post Apple being a 'threat' to the gaming industry was more of a joke, and I tried to emphasized that, but you wanted to be right about everything.
Good, because I don't know anybody who takes you seriously either. You've become a bit of a laughing stock in The Turtle Crew.I don't take you seriously. I probably never will.
Cyber, every time I see you post I can't help but sigh. You're never funny, you always annoy me (how can you not expect Kingdom Hearts II references with a name like CyberSora?), and you have the personality of an egotistical jack***. Get your crap together and just admit your wrong, or stop making things more dramatic than they need to be.

My point was more that while everyone complains about the SC2 UI (it happens on all the SC subreddits, all over TeamLiquid - everywhere...) the UI for HoN, and more importantly LoL, which is far more popular in terms of playerbase size, is far worse, and yet no one seems to complain...So you're comparing Starcraft 2 with LoL and HoN? That isn't very helpful.
I will admit, though, LoL's UI is terrible. It's a bit clunky, and while I like the colorful look in LoL, it gets a bit too much at times when team fights enable. It's like someone ate a bunch of Skittles and threw up on my screen. The game is broken, so I can understand why it sucks; HoN only sucks because they tried competing with LoL and added way too many champs to my liking without caring about balance.
Dota 2's interface is a bit of half and half for me. I love SC2's micro management since it posed as a challenge for people. Dota 2's micro management, while simple, is stupid. I'd like to have a bit more options when controlling my creeps and neutrals when I play as Chen, like being able to press a key and gain control of a certain creep or neutral, much like how you're able to do that with the Courier; or being able to let the creep use a stun or deny a tower for, something that'll be very helpful in Dota 2. Am I wishing for too much, or are we able to do that but I haven' set up my key bindings correctly?
Anyways... yeah. Blizzard ruined WoW. Dota 2 > HoN > Staring at paint > LoL. Micros!
As for controlling creeps, I don't think you've ever been able to do that on a MOBA - but I'm not sure... It would seem somewhat pointless though, surely? They are there to die quickly to heroes and to offer more tactics and etc, but there would seem to be little point controlling them...

This thread sucks.
On topic; the DRM works. You can't pirate the game currently (as there is no crack), so those wanting to play it have bought it. From a business perspective, it's working.
As for all the errors that have plagued the release; in a couple weeks time all those errors will be fixed and then eventually everyone will forget about them and find the DRM no problem at all, bar the people with bad/no internet (obviously).
I do think it's still too early to have always online DRM, but it's not surprising that a company goes to this length to protect such a popular PC only title. It's either that, or go the Crytek route; consolise and ruin the game.
My main gripe with diablo 3 is the price. Far too high.

You know what would also work from a "business perspective"? Mandatory DNA tests each time you want to play a game.
It's not a business perspective that makes a product enjoyable, it's the consumer's. If I pay for a product, I want to use that product whenever the hell I want, goddarnit. I don't pay just to have the mere possibility of playing it, like having access to the game is some kind of honor we should be grateful for. I have some effing pride.
Have this in mind, by buying Diablo 3 and submitting to this bull, you're enabling this kind of behavior. You're encouraging other companies to do the same. You're patting Blizzard on the back and saying "gee Blizz, thank you for creating this inconvenient and manipulative DRM!".Last edited by SnipySev; 05-22-2012 at 02:11 PM.

Select creep, ctrl+1. Selected creep is now binded to 1.I'd like to have a bit more options when controlling my creeps and neutrals when I play as Chen, like being able to press a key and gain control of a certain creep or neutral, much like how you're able to do that with the Courier; or being able to let the creep use a stun or deny a tower for, something that'll be very helpful in Dota 2. Or you can enable the option of having ctrl automatically select all creeps in your control (works amazingly for Nature's Prophet and Enigma).

Even as a jape, this just doesn't make sense.
Like I said before, I don't agree with it and still think it's too early for always online DRM. However, at the end of the day this is the way most major game companies are going to go in the future, and it would almost be ignorant to think otherwise. Blizzard have already proved that enough people are okay with the always online DRM, as the sales seem pretty good so far.

That's not to say that's the only solution though. Pricing games decently usually brings in far more money than having them be expensive, and £45 (Diablo price in UK) for a PC game is far too much imo. DRM is a still a big area that needs work. Game companies need to protect their IP's, but it must not be at the expense of the consumer.
One day I'll be able to deal with always online DRM. As long as their systems work perfectly, and my internet is stable (which it almost always is) I should be experiencing no hiccups and would game like normal. But right now that's clearly not the case. It's not surprising though for a DRM method still in its infancy.
I want to buy this game, and I may do so if I see it cheap. I have the starter edition to hold me over till then, and I'm enjoying it even if their side of the servers are bunk atm. Couldn't believe I was lagging in a single player game xD

Especially because that wouldn't work from a 'business perspective' at all.

Well I have watched a ton of gameplay videos on the game so far and it looks really awesome. I know a few people have already asked but I would really appreciate a guest pass. If you have one just drop me a PM on here :x.

Fine, the joke was stupid. Although it's clearly not the joke that bothered you. You called me an idiot because I questioned your dear Blizzard's integrity.
My point still stands. When a company's truly concerned about the satisfaction of the consumer, it's not the business perspective that matters, it's the consumer's. That's clearly not the case with Diablo 3. This system is designed for Blizzard's benefit and for the players' inconvenience.
