Post TheOnlyBub Reviews (I am Back!)

It has been a long time, but I am finally back and ready to conquer all the levels on LBP 1 and 2! I used to do reviews on this website a long time ago, but I got caught up with work and all the games I have missed out on from being in a strict family household.
But here I am now! Ready to take on more reviews! Am I crazy?! I think so, so lets go and get started shall we? I also would like to let you know that I am a very fast reviewer. As long as you post your level in-between 6am-10pm Cali time.

Here is how to post a level to be reviewed:
(BTW I will review both LBP 1 and LBP 2 levels if you did not catch that at the beginning.)

Level Name: (ex. House of Grumpy Pigs (Race))
    PSN: (ex. theonlybub)
Lbp.me link: (If you know how to do this that would be awesome!)
Explanation: (Why you want me to review the level) (ex. I want some feedback)

Here is the way I go about reviewing levels:

Pros: I will list specific pros that I liked about the level.
Cons: I will list specific cons about the level.

These next few categories are mostly for others to see if it is a type of level they want to play.
    Category: The type of level.
Time: The time to complete the level.
Difficulty: Easy, Easy-Medium, Medium, Medium-Hard, Hard, Hard-Expert, Expert.

This is how I will score your level:
    Gameplay: Score out of 10.
    Replay-ability: Score out of 10
Player Friendliness: Score out of 10.
    Originality: Score out of 10.
Overall Score: Score out of 10 (I will add up all scores and come to an average which in turn will be the FINAL SCORE.)

I most likely add some tips or comments at the end, or in the middle of the review, so look out for some of those helpful little do-dats.

I look forward to reviewing your level(s)!

    LBP.me linkie: http://lbp.me/v/-0vd81
Explanation: I'm making a level at the moment and would love some feedback for this one. Thus I can correct any of my past mistakes, make my levels less amateurish and improve my skills. Also, since I'm planning on making it a series, feedback(negative or positive), would help me greatly with the next parts. I'd prefer if you posted your review(or only your thoughts) in LBP2 itself but I don't mind posting if you're it here
It would be AWESOME if you could do both

Anyways TY for taking your time to read this post and hopefully review my level
    Check out my levels!

    Pros-
    -Original Idea
    -fun to play/addictive
-the theme stuck throughout the level
-arrows were a big help with backtracking

    Cons-
-too easy to activate other checkpoints, so you end up back tracking when you don't want or need to (Suggestion: change the checkpoints so that you can only activate them only once)
-too easy to go behind objects and platforms, thus falling to your death is almost guaranteed
-the electricity can be hard to see at times, especially on older tvs (Suggestion: use neon to brighten up the electric parts)
    -can be very frustrating

Category: Platformer Time: 11 min. Difficulty: Hard

GamePlay: 7.5/10 It was hard to play, but overall, fun and addicting.

Replay-ability: 6/10 The reason this score is so low is because of the level of difficulty, but some people may get addicted and want to try to beat their high score! Others however may quit out of frustration.

Player Friendliness: 5/10 Though it was fun for me, I am sure that this will be very difficult for many other people and they will not like the kind of gameplay this level utilizes.

Originality: 8.5/10 Though I'm sure there are levels like this, I have yet to come across one, therefore the originality goes up.

Overall Score: 6.75/10 Not too bad, just some little things that held this level back from its full potential.

    Final Comments:
-bounce pads would look nicer and make the level run smoother if they were hidden in the ground
-the time it took me to complete the level was that high mostly because of my unusable right index finger
-another thing you could add is some sound other than the music to spice up your level

    Pros-
-good use of the cameras in cut scenes
-proper grammar and spelling was used

    Cons-
    -level design lacks originality
    -too dark at times
-point bubbles are strewed everywhere and sometimes too many are in one place
-platforms and overall look is jagged and misshapen
-story levels were scattered in the background to make up for detail

Category: Adventure/Platformer Time: 5 min. Difficulty: Easy

    GamePlay: 3.5/10
Even though it was an easy level to play through, there was a part where it took a while for me to advance. (This part was where the wall blows up and leaves a jagged pathway in its explosion's wake.) The level also kills you at the very beginning automatically and also during the story. (Getting killed midway in a level is just something I don't understand.) The sackbot that is supposed to be following you doesn't follow you the whole way and randomly appears, and he also gets in the way at times, such as the lever and the fire monkeys.

    Replay-ability: 2/10
Due to the lack of detail and the overall darkness of the level, I was not inclined to want to play the level again.

    Player Friendliness: 6.5/10
Though this is an easy level for all players, the darkness can leave some wondering where they need to go. This also lacks a clear story and some players won't appreciate this.

    Originality: 2/10
The story did not make sense, therefore depleting the originality of it. It also did not stick to a theme and steered away from a truly original type of gameplay. The "Fire Monkeys" were only sackbots on fire, so this stopped the originality from going up as well.

    Overall Score: 3.5/10
Though it was a good first try, it is still a level that needs extensive amounts of work.

    Final Comments:
-USE GRID to create easy stairs, straight platforms, smoother walls, etc.
-the background was hard to see
-the rocket was hard to get out of to finish the race
-if you decide to turn this into a series, try to fix up this first level
-keep creating because eventually you will get used to all of the tools and make something breathtaking

Nice to see someone lightening up the rather quiet review board. Looks like it just got a little more traffic, so I'm glad you have started to review again.

THE LOST TEMPLE (PLATFORMER 1-4 PLAYERS) by PYROTROOPER91

    Pros-
-sounds were utilized throughout the level
-decorations made parts of the level look clean and fresh
-the level stuck to a theme
-point bubbles were decorated to the level theme
-arrows helped me get through the level by pointing me in the right direction
    -great use of the lights

    Cons-
-the video cut scenes were too long and made the level seem slow paced
-some parts of the level had decorations that were overused
-first checkpoint was not an unlimited checkpoint like all the others (this could cause problems for beginner players)
-(to me) the blue wood seemed kind of bland and took away from how the level looks (maybe a different wood type could have been used?)

Category: Platformer/Adventure Time: 6 min. (Due to the long cut scenes) Difficulty: Easy

    Gameplay: 8/10
This level brought me back to LittleBigPlanet 1 because of the way it was played and the way it looks, but it has the LBP 2 twist in there as well. Overall, the gameplay was smooth sailing, but I noticed some small cracks in the floor here and there and some other little flaws, but those don't really set back the flow of the level.

    Replay-ability: 6/10
This level doesn't have anything that people would want to go back and play again, but it was a fun level and I'm sure others who play this will tell their friends so that they can check it out too.

    Player Friendliness: 8/10
Overall, the level was entertaining, easy, and gave me that good ol' platforming, switch pulling feel. I like that you made the level so that multiple people can play it, because not many levels allow that anymore.

    Originality: 7/10
The platforming is not original by any means, but the look and the feel was one I have not seen in a long time in an LBP2 level.

    Overall Score: 7.5/10
Great platformer, with only minor flaws. Good work!

    Final Comments:
-the circle you run in, I did not have to spin it. I just lined the arrow up with the line and kept jumping in it and it worked great
-the part where you must get out of the fire floor room, the platform that moves when you hit the button should look a little more natural. (Suggestions: take away the piston and make the fiery part look more jagged like rock or fire or add pistons to make the platform look as if it actually being held up)
-some of the string was not attached to anything
-some of the string did not look natural where it was at
-X's would have been better if hidden and out of site
-I loved the lightning effect, but at times it was a little overused

When someone wants me to do a review on a series of levels, I usually review them in one big review. This is because the last time I tried doing reviews on levels separate I got behind in my reviews.

And also, I have been on vacation for the past few days. Sorry for the delay. I will be reviewing more levels shortly!
