Default The Console Wars V: Road's End

There was a tap, and the recorder started it's quiet hum.

"This is a documentation of the events of the fifth war. The end, as one could call it, but I doubt one could ever figure the end of anything. Either way, I've got to get all of this off my chest. Now where do we begin?"

2 months after the events of Blackout, and 27 years after the 4th war, the big 3 are at war again, with the unity of them all but destroyed by the elusive cults and groups of previous wars coming to bring forth an even greater evil in the midst of chaos, but a chaos that the factions have no other way to end, but in war...

    What is TCW?

The Console Wars, for those who aren't familiar, is the greatest story of heart, badassery, and cliffhangers that you'll ever find.* We are a culmination of writers who band together to create an epic tale about the big 3 in gaming today, the soldiers behind the factions seeking peace and revenge, and their war to be the last console standing in a world of constant chaos and destruction trying to bring them down.

    What you're doing

Basically, you're writing the story of your characters in the war. The battles that you're in, the defining moments, the secret missions, the moments of tranquillity, etc. (Each section of your story is known as a post, or a 'toast' as most of us call them) How epic and hearwarming/stopping TCW is will be 100% determined by you guys, and enforced by me, and everyone else, so make sure you've done something that you're proud of, and make sure that you interact with the other characters in game as much as possible within reason, and with the consent of others of course. Read up on some of the old wars if you don't get what I mean, you can easily figure it out fast then. (Not the first war though, I'm pretty sure that not much of that is legible.)

    The Console Wars

    The Console Wars: Revival

    The Console Wars 2: Renewal

    The Console Wars 3

    The Console Wars IV

    The Console Wars: Blackout

(NOTE: IT IS NOT REQUIRED THAT YOU READ ALL OF THESE AND STUDY EVERY ASPECT OF THE STORY TO SIGN UP, IN FACT, I DON'T EVEN RECOMMEND IT.)

    What's new in TCW5

Faction Points System: Your actions will influence the outcome of your faction in the war through a points system; the more points that you have, the better that your faction will do in the thick of things. Faction Points can be earned or deducted depending on what happens in battles, what missions succeed or fail, etc. Please do not let this system change your plans for posts. Remember that we're still telling a story here, and that the points should just be something in the back of your head and not altering your story massively.

Weekly Reports: Every week we do reports which detail the stuff that that happened, and where we reveal some random events that are going to happen, which would be battles, attacks, destroying stuff, important moments for certain characters, stuff like that, and i'll also be checking to make sure that everyone's active either weekly or every other week. NEXT!

    Rules

1: Anything non-story/post/toast must be said in double brackets, like this: ((This comment is not story related.)) PLEASE PEOPLE, PLEASE KEEP IT LIKE THIS. We're trying to steer clear of confusion here, and if you have your post like:

Alexa retreated back into the base, her hopes dashed by the sniper waiting down the alleyway.

It's a short post, sorry guys.

...then it's really disorganized and confusing to people, so please:

Alexa retreated back into the base, her hopes dashed by the sniper waiting down the alleyway.

((It's a short post, sorry guys.))

2: PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT POSTS ARE FREE OF SPELLING AND GRAMMAR ERRORS. I may not make it seem as such, but we're really serious about writing an epic tale here, so PLEASE check your posts for spelling and grammatical errors. You could even send them to me if you're unsure of something, and I'll check it over. You guys got that? Good. Next rule.

3: If you're going to join up and start moulding the story with everyone else, make sure that you're going to stick around to keep writing. I'd really like to avoid the kind of plot holes that we've experienced in the past with people leaving and not writing anymore posts after like a week. As long as you think you can stick around with us, and contribute, then we'll be fine.

4: Make sure that your posts make sense, and aren't completely game changing. This is pretty self explanatory, is it not? You can't have posts that are going to completely screw over someone else's characters, or the story by being like:

Jack pressed a button, and all of a sudden the Sony and Nintendo main bases totally vanished, and teleported into a different dimension.

None of that please, we've had bad experiences with this kind of situation in the past. Also, as stated before, make sure that you get approval before doing something significant with others' characters as to not differ their story from something that they had in mind. Also logic; make sure posts are logical.

5: CREATIVITY. This is the finale of TCW, so we need to make this as epic as possible. Of course, this is about Consoles, so we do need to have the obligatory gaming references, but please come up with as much original content as possible. We're going to need some action, revenge, tragedy, comedy, even love stories. (Let's stay with in reason please, family website.)

-This may sound pretty power hungry, but I reserve the right to refuse a sign-up if I don't think you're fit for the role, there are conflicts, or the rules are broken.

-Keep in mind, if you decide that you want to join in and sign ups have ended, you can send me a PM and I'll see if I can fit you in

-Follow the rules. Do it please.

    -You know you want to.

    Chapter 1: Assembly

Ocean waves and winds swept past the boat as it cut through the waters and left a wake of ripples behind it. The sails flapped with a certain elegance, but with a way that makes them move the vessel with immense speed. Alexa stepped out of the cabin and basked in the morning light as she moved towards the bow and checked her compass, noticing that she was slightly off course. She clenched her hand into a fist, then spread her fingers, pointing towards the mast and twisted her wrist. The mast and sails turned ever so slightly, but enough.

I'm getting quite good at this.

Not many approved of her vacation, but Alexa needed time to figure things out for herself, and it had worked to bring her power up to speed. She retreated back to her lounging chair, but was immediately intruded upon by a vibrating sound. Alexa picked up her phone, but instead of dropping it again like the rest of her trip, she peered at the caller ID, and with a large measure of reluctance, answered the call.

"Jason, why are you disturbing me right now? I'm on vacation."

"And you picked a horrible time for a vacation."

"We've taken out Eric, and the rest of the Blackout main base, why are you so worried?"

"Well first off, that's wrong; they may have dissapeared from the media because of our little stunt, but they're far from destroyed. Second, we need you back home again. The console wars are coming back, if not already started. Hyrule city's in ruins so they're pretty screwed over right now, and Sony also believes that both Microsoft and Nintendo had plots to kill off citizens of Sao paulo, what with MS being at that press release, then them still believing that Nintendo crashed that plane. Getting to the important bit, new MS leader wants you to be a teacher's pet."

    "Say again?"

"He's putting together a bunch of task forces, wants you at the head of his most advanced one. Task Force Dawn."

"Fancy, but uh.. Why? And who am I going to be working with here?"

"Rest of us squad presumably, but I don't know the man's intentions. Just get back here."

    "Fair enough."

    "Alright, see you later then."

She hung up the phone and laid it back down on the floor, and closed her eyes and fell back down into her chair as she closed her eyes and started to relax again.

Ah, little Alexa... never liked being told that she couldn't do something, or being told what to do. Even in her early years she wouldn't take **** from anyone, and if she did, well...

A small hum started to ring in Alexa's ears, and being at sea for as long as she was, it was the sound she'd known as a motorboat engine ripping through the water, but instead of getting louder as it passed by her, it became quieter, and soon to an absolute stop. Her eyes burst wide open and dashed right towards the starboard side of the boat as a woman in black stood on Alexa's boat with a magnum in hand. She was Blackout.

She took a shot but Alexa had already moved from her seat and was up in her face trying to rip the gun from her hand. 5 shots fired from the gun as the two of them struggled over the weapon, but the fight ended quickly as Alexa forced the girl right over the edge of the boat with a blast from her hand. She flew back onto her own boat and picked up a rifle that was on the floor as she got up and fired back at Alexa, pinning her back down to the ground.

Time to give her my little surprise.

Alexa clenched her hand into a fist again and started to pulse more energy through her arm & bracer.

"I wouldn't **** with me if I were you Alexa, I'm the one with the gun here."

    "We'll see about that miss..?"

    "Don't worry about learning it."

"You're right, you're ready for a watery grave."

Alexa popped up from her cover and brought her arm back, then pushed forward, delivering a devastating shockwave which bowled over the Blackout boat, but not before the girl managed to hit Alexa with a bullet that punched through the skin on her right shoulder. Once Alexa saw the boat was not coming back up to the water, she collapsed right on the ground, with the combined loss of energy and pain of the gunshot wound. All that she could do at this point was pull the lever for the emergency engine on the back of the boat and speed off, but just as she was about to doze off again, she saw something that thee Blackout girl had dropped on the boat, an ID card.

Sienna Robertson. I'll keep that in mind.

...Let's just say that Alexa having a grudge is a bad thing, and much to the contrary of what she thinks, Sienna isn't going down easily. She'll figure that out soon enough.

    Chapter 1: Prison Break.

    Ten years ago.

SEGA Research and Development Building, Anchorage, Alaska
    Time: 2:07 P.M.

A large, intricate clock, with a golden ring providing an outline for it, stood high above the office of one SEGA Agent, leading those who worked there with him in the snowy lands of Alaska. Besides the constant ticking, and the diligent note-writing, the room was completely silent. This silence, however, was broken one day as as the sound of foot-steps could be heard across the hallways of the mighty edifice. A woman barged into the man's own office, and proceeded to stretch one of her arms out as she handed over a phone that she had been holding onto securely while making her way to there.

Woman: "Captain Ihkrov, I'm sorry for interrupting you, but there's someone who wants to speak with you."
Seera Ihkrov: "Well, couldn't you have just provided an extension to my own work phone?"
Woman: "I'm sorry, he says it's urgent not to provide any form of extension, ...he doesn't want anyone to be able to hear in on the conversation."
Seera: "..Alright then, thank you. That'll be all."

After taking the phone from the lady, he shoo'ed her away, asking to close the doors behind her as well, as he remained sitting at his desk.

Seera: (on phone) "This is Seera Ihkrov. Who do I have the pleasure of speaking with?"
    John: "Hey Seera, it's John."
Seera: "Ah.., Mr. Cappucino, it's good to be speaking with you. How are things doing?"
John: "Things are going well, how are you doing, holding up the fort over in your little icy estate?"
Seera: "Things are going slow, but the atmosphere itself is amazing. You should really drop by some time and.....well, that's not what you really came to talk about, now did you?"
    John: "No, I'm afraid not."

Seera stood there, looking around at his office, not yet saying another word. He pushed his chair back and got up, and closed the blinds on his windows.

    Seera: "I'm listening."
John: "You must know that what I'm about to tell you can't be told to anyone.. anyone.
    Seera: "You have my word."
John: "...Okay. Several days ago, some men of ours were able to find certain...technology."
    Seera: "Technology? Where?"
    John: "In a vault."
    Seera: "Where was this vault?
John: "I don't know, not much about it yet at least. They're trying to keep it as confidential as possible. Only around twenty people know about it so far, I had to do a lot just to be able to tell you."

Seera: "That's very kind of you, but why must I know about this?"
John: "Face it Ihkrov, you're one of the best engineers SEGA has. They're already setting up a conference to talk with some of the head honchos on what they're planning to use it for, and you're invited."
Seera: "Invited? Where will this conference be taking place?"
John: "Over at the Headquarters building in Faithville, Texas."

Seera: "Well..alright then. Thank you John, I really appreciate it. I just need to know one more thing. What's this conference supposed to be about, besides this newly acquired technology?"
John: "Like I said, they're keeping it top secret, but they're sending a jet over to where you are to pick you up. All I know is that they've given the conference some sort of codename."
Seera: "..And what is this codename?"

    John: "Project Genesis."

    ---------------------------------------

    Present Day.

    Blackout Prison Cell, Sunnyvale, California
    Time: Unknown.

Guard: "What do you know about 'Project Genesis', huh?"

Heather's eyes widened completely, screaming in pain as she felt the pain of the beholder's whip as it lashed against one of her arms. The pain was unbearable, as she sat there, chained up in the poorly-lit interrogation room, with agents dressed in soulless black armor, occupying the different corners of the room.

Guard: "Why were you after Rico Martinez, and what were you doing for Sony?"

Heather tried explaining, but her mind had already slowly been slipping. Her vision was blurred, and she wasn't sure how long she had been held in this nightmare land, but the cuts and bruises all over her hinted that it might have been a while.

Guard: "Don't feel like talking, huh?"

The Guard readied his whip, prepared to slash it against her once again, this time prepared to hit Heather's right leg, before he was cut off by another guard, demanding to stop the torture process, and to instead take her back to her holding cell. She heard the footsteps of other soldiers walking by her, unlocking the metal binds that were tightly wrapped around Heather's wrists and ankles, and dragging her out of the room, as her mind began fading to black.

Yu kicked at random rocks on the ground as she walked along the sidewalk which led to the headquarters of ENN. She was in anything but a happy mood, as Aron had left this morning on a mission without any warning, and only left a note behind saying he would be back soon. She had always told him he could just wake her up and tell her then, but he never listened.

Within a few minutes, she had arrived at the headquarters. It was a tall, shiny, white skyscraper with the entrance surrounded by four gigantic fountains, something which Yu thought was a bit too much. She entered and started to head towards Elwood's office.

"Hello, Yu," Elwood greeted her with the same annoyingly cheerful smile he always did. "Please, sit down."
Yu sat down on the nearest chair, which wasn't really anything special, and the same went for Elwood's office (Which was quite odd in Yu's mind, as the rest of the building was completely overdone and over the top).

"Hello, Elwood. Was there a reason for you asking me to come by?"

"Of course," He gave her another smile, this one so fake and cheerful it almost gave Yu actual pain to look at. "I know you're going to visit your family over the weekend, four days from now, but-"

"If this interfers with my plans, I decline," Yu crossed her arms.

"If you don't mess up, everything should be fine. All I need you to do is to deliver some files. If you leave by tonight, you should be able to come back in a couple of days, probably on Thursday sometime around midnight. I'll pay you extra for this, because I know you're in need of the money."

Yu sighed, with her and Aron's financial troubles, it would be stupid for her to decline, but still, arriving at midnight on Thursday left her almost no time to prepare before she would have to be going to the airport for her flight to China. And, plus, if she had to leave tonight, she probably wouldn't be there when Aron returned. Already regretting her decision, Yu nodded.

"Fine, get whatever I'll need ready, I'll come back in a few hours to depart," Yu gave a wave goodbye, and started walking towards the door to leave.

"Yu," Yu stopped and turned around, raising an eyebrow. "Thank you."

Without responding, Yu exited the room.

Gabriel laid down on his bed, looking up towards the boring, grey ceiling. Leaky pipes had caused it to become damp, with occasional water drops falling and landing on Gabriel’s nose, much to his annoyance.
The quiet sound of cars driving could be heard, could always be heard. But they were always far, far above. Life touched by the sky continued on, but for those not so lucky, well, it wasn’t so glamorous. Somehow, someway, Gabriel had found himself in prison. Not any old official prison though, this one was run by the infamous Blackout group. Previously, Gabriel was supposed to hate them, but the opposite was, in fact, true. The only contact he had with them was responsible for getting him and his daughter, Annabella, out of Faithville, a hell-hole town plagued with insane murderers. This “establishment” Gabriel now found himself in was causing them to lose points rather quickly however.
“Hey newbie,” a strangely familiar voice said. Gabriel sat up, staring towards the cell in front of him. Inside was a tall but skinny man, his messy hair covering the upper portion of his face, including his eyes. A small, disturbing grin could still be seen though, making Gabriel feel slightly uncomfortable.
“Yeah, whatcha want?” Gabriel asked, his Southern accent taking charge once again.
“How long you think it’ll take ‘till you break?” the man asked, suddenly leaping towards the bars separating him from freedom. Gabriel flinched at the sudden action, and then regained his posture.
“Don’t think I have anything worth breaking for partner,” Gabriel said, returning to lying on the not-so-comfortable bed.
“Ah,” the man said. “Even worse.”
“How so?” Gabriel asked, bolting back to the sitting position.
“It’s a bit cliché, but once you enter, you only leave one way,” the man chuckled, slowly sliding away from the bars. Gabriel noticed he had several scars covering his near naked body, some long, others short.
“And what would that one way be?” Gabriel questioned, now finding himself a bit worried.
“You’re useless to them. You have no information. They’ll try a few times to get something out of you, but once they realize you’re a waste of resources, they’ll throw you in the pit with the rest of ‘em,” the man explained. “You’re going to die, just like the rest of us.”

The floor was cold under Res’s feet, and the amniotic fluid from the hypersleep lay around him in a pool. His legs were shot and his back felt like it’d been broken, not to mention the inability to move his arms anywhere past 90 degrees. After about an hour of small stretches Res finally could manage to get up, daylight was pouring in through a hole in the ceiling and the four other pods, smashed outwards, gleamed in the light.
He only remembered a few strands from before – the drawing of a lottery ticket, the shrieks of his family and the long underground journey to his holding pen, as his friends called it. Everything else just blurred into one loud, sad event.
He started to walk, picked up a shard of glass from the floor and shuffled towards the light, he was much skinnier before and naked, he grabbed some armour from the shelf and toppled over, the shelf collapsed on top of him. He tried to pull his legs from under the shelf, but a long time of hypersleep had left his muscles almost useless – how long had he been out?
He mewed loudly for help, hoping some lucky traveller would find him in the wreckage, but no-one came. He was low on food, and delirious from such a long sleep. He heard rustling ahead, obviously his calls had drawn something – or hopefully someone had been attracted by his calls, so he shouted louder – no one could understand him, but what did that matter? The noise of footsteps filled him with hope.

But it wasn't human footsteps, it was a tiny pitter-patter rather than the slow stomping of even the most stealthy humans. No, this was something else entirely. Then Res spotted one on the edge of the room - a little twitch of its slender body as it crawled towards him, eyes intrigued and somehow hungry. Rats. There were rats in the room.
Res started to mew even louder as the pack began streaming into the room like a sea of black bodies heading towards Res, who had just enough time to look up at the Texan sky and a massive white building as the rats descended on him. That's when Res first started screaming.

Ziggy made her way through New Natal in complete civilian dress; armed with only a Desert 5 and a serrated combat knife for protection. And an array of medical supplies stuffed hastily inside a messenger bag. And a spherical chunk of C4 stuffed in Jak's backpack, shape akin to a Bob-Omb. She glanced to her left and attempted to bore into his eyes, to embed some sort of guilt in his conscience. He didn't notice. Or he didn't care. Probably a mixture of both. Jak. A friend. A soldier. A terrorist. Like her. Ziggy. Ziggy the terrorist.

    “It suits you.”

Her sergeant's acrid tones slithered back into her subconscious, it's return unwelcome after departing not even an hour before. Her sergeant, whose motives she had questioned. Her sergeant, whose audacity she had confronted. Her sergeant, whose right finger pulled back the trigger, mercilessly sending a .9 Caliber bullet deep into her right foot. Ziggy absentmindedly reached her hand into the pocket of her skinny jeans to check it was still there. The silken metal cooled her fingertips and stabilized the nausea residing deep in her gut. She looked up to see Jak continue to push their way through the crowd, every single person in the deafening sprawl seemingly carrying the new Halo game, whatever the hell it was called. It didn’t really matter when she considered the fact that it was the sixteenth edition of a product neither herself or Jak liked in the first place. Every single person running back to their respective houses, to place their respective disks in their respective consoles. That word repeated itself in her head, rebounding against the lining of her brain. Run. Run as fast as you can. She briefly glanced at her watch, battered through surviving many a year of pointless combat. Ten past twelve. It must have been a midnight launch. And those people would never have the satisfaction of placing that disk in that console. Because tonight was the night that they were going to die. Tortuously. Horrendously. Sickeningly... No. Don't think like that. Because once a target has feelings, they have a reason to exist. And that one reason they should exist instantly drowns out the many reasons that they shouldn't.
“You really think we’ll get through this?” She directed the question at Jak, her eyes locking onto his. He didn’t flinch.
“Sure we will. Bullet ridden, scarred for life, maybe a little bit decapitated, but then again, you’re amazing at fixing that sort of stuff... Right?” The silence was immeasurable. Ziggy continued to stroll onwards into the lions den, her stance resembling that of a doomed zebra or gazelle, rather than the king of the jungle itself. “Sorry. I was being sarcastic. We’ll be fine.” Their fatigued trance pulled them into the blazing heat that clung to their skin in the silky velvet darkness of the night. She looked up. A full moon hung solemnly above. Time for the Wolf to come out to play. After five more minutes of trudged steps, they gave into their fatigue; sitting down on a nearby bench, Jak getting back up to buy some cool slushies from a nearby ice cream van. She could think of no logical reason why there was an ice cream van still running in the middle of the night, at least until she could see the steadily building line of teenagers lining up outside, clutching said Halo game. Ziggy carefully scanned the vicinity to find that Jak had left his backpack lying aimlessly on the bench. She barely had a minute to relax before the tinted shadow of a policeman lay before her feet.
“Do you have a permit?” His drawling voice radiated of pompous self importance, obnoxiously grating on her eardrums after only a nanosecond of hearing it.
“A permit? Why would I need a…” Then it clicked. To come into a five mile radius of Microsoft’s Headquarters, you needed a little slip of paper that took a month to obtain and only lasted for a year. They hadn’t had enough time to even apply for one and even if they did, they wouldn't have. It was too big a risk.
“You don’t have one do you? I’m afraid you’ll have to come with me.” This guy was enjoying every single stumble she made. Ziggy tried to gesture to Jak, but he was now preoccupied with talking to the vendor.
“Of course I do, let me get it out for you.” She reached into her shirt, the dextrous fingers of her right hand seemingly searching for the misplaced document.
“Hang on, is that a –” Ziggy stabbed him viciously with the dagger, pulling him close and aggressively working it through his heart. To anyone walking past, it would look like an affectionate bear hug. When Ziggy felt the man’s resistances give, she calmly withdrew the blade and laid the officer on the bench. She slung the backpack over her shoulder and walked five short metres towards Jak; one glance was all she needed to convey the situation to him.
“Crap. Didn’t take that long did it?” Her commander chanced a swift glimpse at the body slumped limply against the bench; the black cotton of his shirt gradually transforming into a vivid crimson.
“I thought medics were meant to heal people, not kill them...” He was about to throw the drinks down into a nearby bin, but Ziggy stopped him with a subtle tap on his wrist.
“They could get our prints that way.” They barely had time to cover ten feet before a wide selection of anguished cries reached their eardrums. The pair began to bolt for the North Gate of the plaza, but guards armed with assault rifles blocked their way, pushing them back.

    ((THOU HOPES SHALL BE FULFILLED))

It has been almost 2 months since the small city of Petropolis got hit by a nuclear warhead. Although no group took the responsibility for the attack, flight research suggests that the missiles were fired from the North, strongly suggesting that Microsoft might have a part on these events. The other missile, which was directed towards Rio de Janeiro, was disabled before it could reach its destination. The now partially destroyed city of Petropolis is believed to be the latest Blackout refuge, as bystanders have reported seeing people in black armor transit in and out of the place in secrecy. A squad, commanded by the Supreme Commander GDN, was sent to the city in a recon mission.

    CHAPTER 1: UPRISING

GDN stares at a picture in his hand, completely oblivious to the world around him. The picture shows him hugged to a sackgirl. Below, written in pen: "Diana and I". Something can be heard around him. A fellow soldier calls for his attention as he puts te picture away and returns to reality: GDN is riding on top of a M1A4 MBT heading towards the torn city of Petropolis.

Sargeant: GDN, put the picture down, will ya? We need you back inside.
    GDN: Right, right.

GDN gets down into the hatch, closing it from inside.

Sargeant: You never know when they might hit a lucky nade into one of these...
GDN: You said it. Requesting tank control.
    Driver: She's all yours, Commander.

GDN takes the driver's seat and focuses on the screen in front of him, showing the tank's external camera and status. Around the tank, two IFVs and a bunch of foot soldiers follow his lead from behind.

The tank opens its way through the debris-filled streets of what was once a nice, calm town. Every building at view seems like it could come down on top of them every moment. The soldiers look around, expecting for anything to attack. The atmosphere is tense.

Soldier: Sir... The Geiger count is just slightly above normal out here...
    GDN: That's... Unexpected.
Soldier: Wait, I have a contact!

The squad points all their guns towards the unknown figure lying in a dark alley. It slowly comes out, revealing itself to be just a little girl. All soldiers breathe in relief.

Sargeant: Heh... And you were almost ******** your pants for that...
Soldier(to girl): Come here, little one... We won't hurt you.

The child starts running towards them, still looking rather scared. It reaches for the soldier's leg and hugs it, while shaking all the time.

    Soldier: Where are your parents?

Another soldiers approaches him, but notices something strange strapped to the girl's back.

Soldier 2: Wait, what is that...
    Soldier 1: What?
Soldier 2: Wait, is that a...

Suddenly, a explosion obliterates the entire squad and the little girl. The survivors try to get up, but they are too hurt to do so.

GDN: What is going on out there??? What happened?

Rocket-propelled grenades come from multiple buildings, destroying one of the IFVs and disabling the other.\

Gunner(in panic): GDN, GET US OUTTA HERE!!!

GDN hits the gas, making the vehicle move forward at full speed as multiple Blackout members appear from inside the buildings, porting more anti-tank weaponry. A barrage of missiles cut the air around the tank as it goes around a corner.

GDN: Well, that pretty much confirms Blackout activity!
    Gunner: What now, sir?
GDN: I suggest we find our way outta this hellhole!

GDN directs the tank through the town streets, still shocked on how Blackout used an innocent girl as suicide bomber. His thoughts were abruptly stopped when he found himself face to face with another tank.

    GDN: Oh s...

He fires the main cannon, causing the Blackout tank to blow up and cuing more troops to come out from their hideout. GDN's tank drives around the wreck and onto an open plaza, as rockets fly towards it from all directions. A missile hits the back of the tank, causing it to ride in a straight line towards a bank building.

    Gunner: GDN! What happened?
GDN: I don't know! The controls were disabled or something!

The commander opens the hatch and is greeted by gunfire coming from all directions.

    Gunner: Argh, it's no good!
Driver: This is unit G001, our entire squad is dead and the tank unit is disabled and not combat-appropriate!

The driver waited for the answer from HQ as GDN loaded his M416 and tried to hold back the attackers.

HQ: This is Headquarters, we received your transmission, sending extraction chopper, ETA 20 minutes.
Driver: 20 minutes??? We can't hold that much!
HQ: You will have to. HQ out.
Driver: Darn. Should have reminded that the Commander was on board!

More Blackout soldiers approach the tank, most of them, however, looked like survivors using Blackout armor and weapons over their torn clothes. GDN keeps shooting, but his rifle starts clicking instead. He searches himself for another magazine, but is suddenly pulled out of the tank by an enemy and stomped on the face.
