Hi, will play the level as soon as QP..oh wait, wrong site queued man.

EDIT: Played. I really like this one man. I thought the silhouette style suited it well. Loved the story, was sad but ended up sad and happy at the same time. really tugs at the ole heart strings. Excellent. question though. In this pic here, is that tree branch deco or you made it?

and in this pic here. I'm going to borrow this idea please. It's just the precise answer I've been looking for.

I just checked it out and it is a sticker from move pack. There's a Branch-bare and a Branch-leafy, using the sticker was a thermo saver compared to making a real intricate object with lots of little twigs, adding some brown leaf decos to give it some movement helps.
The vine swings in the red section were glitched thick thin material so it didn't appear too chunky though it could be done by sticking invisble holo/sticker material to a thin layer piece and tweaking it to grabbable. thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you got the vibe I was aiming for.

  8. Thanks!

Hey EnochRoot, your level looks really nice =P so I just had to go off and play it right away!
You look like a pro and your review on my level would mean alot! http://lbp.me/v/cffp5-
Anyways here's what I though of your level playing it live:

Haha the opening scene is both really romantic and melancholic. And I loved the title with the broken heart swaying through it and then the words dissappearing slowly. I can already tell this is gona be awesome. Yeah, I agree, I really love the silohoutte effect, feels really appropriate to the level and the music is beautiful too! Where do people get this music! Did you write it up your self? Or did someone help you?
I Loved the effect of grabbing a heart and how it sparked lightly. Those purple little flowers scattered throughout the place showed attention to detail that felt so essential to the level. Upon reaching the first 'thing' after climbing three steps, the flying fox (I think) looked so wonderful, it felt like I was playing out a dream. Howerver, the blue-gas-spikes at the bottom felt really harsh and to dangerous to seem fitting of this level - thats what it felt like to me anyways. The end of the flying fox drops you very harshly and made me die twice. Not sure if im just a noob, or if it's a bit too wobbly. The simple little bridge was also very into the theme, but the camera angle felt a little unnatural.
Again, collecting the hearts was really original and I loved the how the 2nd heart was locked away. Loved the descending steps felt like they really were stone steps with vines creaddles around them. The imagery in your level is very powerful and relevant to your idea's theme/concept. Classic. The bridge where the 3rd heart was looked a little big under-designed compated to the rest of the level. Maybe thats just me. I wouldnt worry too much about it though. Also I loved when things turned back, thunder and walking through the graveyard. However I fear that such a wonderful level would go unappreciated due to the story it tells meaning little to the kids who play this game! Who cannot create and nor can appreciate other creators! Here the spikes on the hill made sense now, because things were starting to get worse according to your story. I loved the heart in the water to symbolise the metaphor! Quite creative. The driving cut scene was really well-done, loved the sound effects, and it felt like playing out a movie. The scene at the graveyard with the father and daugther was very nice and melancholic.
I loved entering the light from the inferno. The background here was really good! What theme is this!!??
Hmm is it some sort of layer-glitch. After getting out of the water, I think it is =P
Also should it read "living each day in the reflection of your love" or "living each day in the relfection of our love"? Not quite sure, either works. The ending platform thing (never remember its name) was very intricately and appropriately designed. The swining thing on the right of it was also a very wonderful idea. Overall, the level was very original, creative, beautiful and everything good! Liked and Hearted!

Thanks for for your great review and Feedback FahadM. I've played your potion level and will play it again nad post some feedback in your thread. I'm glad you enjoyed the level and got the vibe I was aiming for. You're right in saying a lot of the younger players might not appreciate the story or slightly avant garde structure but those who do might find it a rewarding, engaging experience.

I played this a couple of days ago, it was pretty cool. What i loved most was the underwater car part, with the little cutscene.
The level also looks very nice, with the silhouette surroundings. Keep on making levels like this! (but less sad )

This level is so charged with emotions that they can almost be touched. Every part, every frame, movement, light, background, music, color and text create an atmosphere that draws player / spectator deep into this sad story. Everything perfectly breathe together from start to finish without errors. Rarely seen such use of LBP, and this attempt is a true masterpiece.

Thanks dude, that's one of my favourite bits too.I like to create the occasional sad level as a counter balance to all the lighthearted levels out there on the server, with a little darkness all those fun levels shine even brighter by comparison.

Thanks G for your appreciation of what i was trying to achieve. It's so nice when someone sees what you were trying to communicate.

I just played your level and here is my quick review.

The uses of a binary element such as love and darkness created a perfect balance in the level. The story of a love that ended someones life along with a limbo like feel of the level was an incredible use. The gameplay of the level was fun and mysterious, not too hard but yet it keeps the player entertain, the use of the cutscene created a visual presentation for the player and the way you use them was perfect, from the swing-set to the car scene. The music also fits everywell with the level. Overall this level is a fun and playful experience.

I hope this review help ^_^
Sorry for my bad english lol

  23. Thanks!

thanks dude glad you enjoyed the level. It is indeed a level filled with darkness and glimpses of light, much like certain times in our lives. The overall resolution at the end of the level is hopefully one of optimism and hope. I saw you mention limbo and that does have a little influence on the atmopshere as does that great platform puzzler Braid.
