    Spare Change (Platformer)
    by  Alley_Cat_8633

Running out of gas can be a huge problem when your in the middle of the slums. Luckily your trusty changinator will chase those beggars and thugs away. This is my first attempt at a "Story Mode" style of level. I hope you all enjoy the level and have a few laughs along the way. Special thanks to L1ghtmare and Psyntens for the custom stickers and Steve_Big_Guns for the creative feedback.

The thing I like most about Alley_Cat’s levels are the wonderfully detailed environments he has a knack for creating, and he certainly doesn’t disappoint here. Taking a break from his usual outdoor-themed epics, he’s created a fun urban caper throughout a sprawling city. Roll up your windows though, this is the not-so-nice part of town!

    Chazprime

Oh noes! You've broken down in the wrong part of town and will have to traverse this dangerous urban domain in order to reach the gas station for more fuel. Problem though, the area is filled with beggars and bums who'll chase you for a few measly coins. Luckily, Alley_CAt has provided us with a unique creatinator...The Changinator. Shoot coins at these ne'er-do-wells and distract them long enough to continue on. Speaking of continuing on, this urban sprawl is filled with some great scenery, platforming, and even a subway tunnel to explore. Make haste and queue this level!

    Biorogue

When booting this level up from my pod, I had no idea what could come out of a level with a main focus on Hobos. I was pleasantly surprised with how different this level looked from Alley's others, and how he managed to incorporate such a unique creatinator to suit the theme. Hold on to your hats! (Or Coininators in this case), because going to need it to brave the concrete jungle!

Quite Simply Gold [1 PLAYER ONLY]

    by  DaSpoony

A level all about Gold, split into four segments each with its own theme and gameplay style. - This is a level originally created to be played at the local town carnival. It's designed to be accessible for those not familiar with LBP so layer switching by the player isn't required. Score 60,000 Points to Unlock Bonus Level! Music by @JackMorganUK.

I told Daspoony that he should change the name to "Quite Simply Awesome" because this level rocked it! The level is divided into four play areas and each one is uniquely different and offers a variety in the gameplay mechanics. It's like having four, four, four levels in one, with the common theme being, yep, Gold! The first section will have you platforming in classic fashion while trying to avoid flaming golden nuggets. The next section you will take charge of a cannon and try to blast pirate ships as they attempt to plunder your booty. The third area is another platforming section, but in a mechanical theme and the last section will have you on the edge of your seat as you try and navigate your mine cart along a treacherous path. Whew!

    Biorogue

You would think a level split into 4 different levels would feel disjointed or overly long... or too short if there are only 4 mini games. Well; when you have the midas touch and glittery subject matter you may end up with a shining example of well thought out accessible golden gameplay!

    Bludhaven

    by  samiamiamsam

Recomended for one player. Far below the city streets lies a place not seen by human eyes. A place where Sackfolks go to test their platforming skills. A place called Bludhaven. lbpcentral.com 7/6/12

Hang on to your breeches folks! For two reasons. One, because VelcroJonze, the famed PSP creator, has published a level on the PS3! And two because this level is fast, blazing fast! It'll pull your stuffing right out if you're not careful. The level has a nice, deceptively simple design to it and blends a nice use of color and light to produce this dank atmosphere. Like I said, the gameplay is fast. One minute you're strolling along and spot some point bubbles and move towards them, the next minute you're flung from here to there, down there, up here and every which way. It was such a pleasure playing this level and I can't wait to see what else VJ has in store for us. Go ahead, play this level now!

    Biorogue

You may recognize VelcroJonze as the awesome-tacular PSP creator with all the coolest levels in the PSP community. After opening his arms to LBP2, Velcro has shown us that his transition from his previous PSP endeavors to creating in LBP2 has not given him problems! Bludhaven is a joy to play. Classic, blistering fast paced gameplay keeps the level alive, and the ambient lighting and visuals are just the cherry on the cake. VJ has done an awesome job transitioning from the rather buggy PSP create mode, and we hope he sticks around the PS3 side of town to deliver some more spectacular levels.

    Restricted Area

    by  goranilic

Something is in there. You're hired to find it........... Big thanks to: @solsnetskaya for advices and help with vehicle, @fishANchips, @MrMik68, @sadsack101 and @steve_c_2008 for testing and support, and @O165_Vivaldi-NL for great music. >>>> made by g&t <<<<

I love a good Pyramid exploration level, I get to let my inner Indiana Jones out and don my Fedora and strap my trusty bullwhip to my side. Sure, I look silly sitting on the couch in my getup and certainly get a few looks from my wife but it helps my game. As I'm making my way through this marvel of engineering, I can't help but notice how well designed the whole place is. There is a host of puzzles to solve and and even more cool contraptions to push, spin and throw you throughout the level. Grab your platforming shoes and head into this Restricted Area...bullwhip not required.

    Biorogue

This level definitely surprised me a little. It’s relaxing new-age music might lull you into a false sense of security, but don’t be fooled because this level is tougher than it looks. What I liked most about goranilic’s new level is that the obstacles and challenges felt new, as opposed to rehashing what others have done before him.

Tank commander: A top down shooter (1-4 players)

    by  Shade_seeker

Use tactics to take out varied enemies, be it by exploding barrels, destroying cover, flanking enemies, or carefull use of the numerous power ups. 1 to 4 players. Thanks go to: Techniquizer, blackbeltnick95, bruce_the_jam, The_hog_flu, Fiveplums, and deathsmile....for their great ideas and testng :)

Wow! Just Wow! I was taken aback with this level right from the start. I started the level in the tutorial and was immediately impressed by the well detailed environment and tank I would be operating. The tank controls are very intuitive so I quickly made my way to the first mission. I made my way across a varied landscape and was met with an assortment of enemies to destroy. There's foot soldiers (don't take them lightly!), jeeps, other tanks, helicopters and all sorts of baddies. I loved the destructible environment as well because I could lay waste to enemy huts and sheds, shoot fuel barrels that would cause nearby enemies to succumb to my wrath. I have to admit though, that I got a little too cocky and was, myself, destroyed by enemy forces, but I have every confidence that you can carry on the mission and gain victory in Tank Commander!

    Biorogue

There was two fish in a tank. The first fish turns to the second fish and says 'do you know how to drive this thing?'

I guess they weren't playing this level intuitive controls result in you quickly going off the beaten path as you try to destroy everything in your path (yes, a mixed metaphor). Just don't forget, a tank is just a giant tin can pay attention or you will be sure to meet your firey demise.

    Violet Gardens

    by  Yoghurtmannen2k

Explore the dull, flooded and violet gardens. It's an original platformer. Enjoy! :)

I've never been fond of water in games and this dates all the way back to Mario on the old NES. Aside from the LBPC8 contest, I haven't run into too many good levels that incorporate the wet stuff. I just find it too confining I guess. I was pleased as punch when playing this level though. Granted, you don't have to be in the water that long, but when you are it's quite nice. The overall design is well done and the gameplay is both clever and innovative with some good puzzles to solve in order to progress. For a good variety in platforming and a keen use of water, head on into Violet Gardens.

    Biorogue

I am in the same boat as Bio in saying that I'm not the biggest fan of water in LittleBIGPlanet. (See what I did there?) However, Yoghurt and Pellemannen have create a level using it in some greatly simple, yet innovative ways. Turning on taps in the level will make the water rise, or even lower, shifting platforms throughout the level in and out of a jumps reach. This simple mechanic provides the level with a lot of clever gameplay, and I really enjoyed seeing how the duo managed to implement water levels in such an overlooked way. Put on your trunks and take a dive into the Violet Gardens today!

    Sprocketz ( Platformer Minigame )

    by  AcAnimate

Get as many points as possible, before the timer hits 0! Oh, and the main room keeps changing between 20 random rooms! ( I will add more in near future ) ____________________________________________ 1 PLAYER ONLY! MORE THAN ONE WILL CAUSE THE LOGIC TO FAIL!

WHOA! AcAnimate is on a roll folks! This newest level was a real treat to play. Once dropping in and then heading into the main play area, you get a sense that something cool is about to take place and boy, does it ever! The timer is ticking and you have only a handful of lives to complete as many of the twenty random challenges as you can. The challenges range in difficulty of fairly easy to the, Oh My Goodness This is Tricky, but all are just a blast to attempt. I loved the design and uniqueness of this level and I know you will too when you load into Sprockets!

    Biorogue

This was great fun to play! The challenges are random, so you might never get the same playthrough twice, but you’d have a blast trying! Besides the stellar gameplay, the visuals are top-notch and very fitting for the theme. The difficulty ramps up as you go along, so be sure to keep your wits about you when you play this one!

     Piston Inc. Facility
    by  deurklink1

Piston Inc., manufacturer of 87% of LBP's pistons, has noticed a decline in the number of pistons used in LBP2 levels. To demonstrate the usefulness of pistons, they built a large tower where you have to race to the top, aided by hundreds of pistons.

What's this? A Little Big Planet 1 level being spotlighted? Why this hasn't happened for a long, long time. Just goes to show that LBP1 game is still a viable tool for making good levels. The premise here is that not many people use pistons any more since Little Big Planet 2 came out, so the company that manufactures the pistons has put this little race course together to show the usefulness of the tool. Race to the top of this well designed structure and encounter a good variety in obstacles and challenges and of course, score bubbles. You know what? Not once did I wish I had a bounce pad or grappling hook.

    Biorogue

This was a nice reminder of days gone by when things we take for granted like switches and bouncepads had to be constructed from scratch. Despite that, this level is still top notch and it’s machinations will elicit a little bit of the awe that you first felt upon reaching the Collector's stage in the original game.

     Grabless- A non-move level
    by  Bikerider12
-YOU DO NOT NEED MOVE TO BE ABLE TO PLAY!- The Brain crain always likes to keep you from moving on, but can you overcome this level by getting rid of it? Thanks to all my friends for help!

I love when a creator comes up with a new and creative way to play this game and Bikerider is one of the best at it. This level introduces us to a new and clever way to use the brain crain, only you're not really using it as it's mainly for impeding your ability to grab objects. What? Yep. The brain crain hates you and doesn't want you to finish this level. So, you must seek out the power-up removers that are strategically placed throughout the level in order to remove the brain crain to progress. The level is well balanced as at some points you can just breeze through hopping and jumping but then you got to stop and eye the surroundings to plot your next move. Put down the Move controller and find yourself Grabless.

    Biorogue

Bikerider always seems to challenge gaming conventions, and this is no different don the Brain crain and work out ways to get rid of it to proceed through the stage, makes this more of a platform puzzler then you'd expect. So jump on in and grab onto something!

     See You Tomorrow? Part One {Musical Cinematic}
    by  Destiny_Waits
Abandoned by his owner at just 1 year old. Hungry, cold and tired, will Skippy's search for a kind stranger ever end?. One player highly recommended to keep the music in time with the movie and prevent lag. If you can't hear the music press start and tick the box for play music in play mode. Some of the music is based on the song Viva Forever, the rest is custom made. No dialogue, therefore no language barrier. Enjoy!.

Not too many Little Big Planet movies grab my attention the way this one does. The first thing I noticed was how well designed all the set pieces were. The details that Destiny_waits has put into this is quite simply amazing, but the story is what this all about. A little puppy tired, lonely, hungry, just wants to be loved. He searches for scraps and is shooed away by everyone he comes into contact with. Now a little boy who is picked on and made fun of at school walks the lonely road home and the two meet each other. What follows is a fantastic story that is sure to warm the coldest of hearts.

    Biorogue

Some very well choreographed sack-ting and well designed and laid out set pieces really set up and support a story that keeps your attention the whole way through, add to this a great soundtrack and you have a popcorn chomping must watch LBPmovie

    PSP Spotlight

    The Apocalypse Prologue by Apocalyptic_LBPC
Introducing the most anticipated level series of the year. Strap in for an epic adventure. Brought to you by The Apocalypse Team.

Move over Kindred. There is a new community project in town. And this one means business. From some of the brightest creators on the psp, comes an intro level that will have you begging for more. Beautifully designed, and a story that will sink it's hooks into you. Let's hope there is plenty more to come from the Apocalypse Team.

    VelcroJonze

It's seems unfair to compare this to Kindred, the now shell-shocked (albeit with 2 beautiful levels) community project, but it' a just comparison. And if this prologue is anything to go by, we'll be expecting top creators making amazing levels with an engaging interwinding story. Count me in!

    Cruise 3D by WoodburyRaider
Take a seat behind the wheel of a brand new 2012 Ford Mustang GT. Cruise 3D is the first 3D racer on PSP.

WoodburyRaider has a knack of creating totally original and brilliant vehicle levels that push the psp's power to it's limit. But this level raises the bar. Climb into a 2012 Ford Mustang and take a cruise in a fully realized 3d environment. Better be on your toes though, because this is not a peaceful Sunday afternoon drive through the countryside. Complete with a scoring system and road hazards, you will have a blast competing for the high score with your friends.

    VelcroJonze

These 3D levels are not uncommon on PS3, but Woodbury has brought the concept to PSP - and it's anything but a gimmick. It's integrated cleverly and you'll not just be sitting back and watching if you want a high score. This beautiful level is one not to be missed.

Great work spotlight team and the mods as well. I don't think everyone realizes it, but the mods have been working hard to fix a few site glitches and as a result, I'm both surprised and impressed.

Thanks for the spotlight on my little game! Hopefully I'll be back next time around with some more to show...

Some awesome levels in here. It blows my mind how the spotlight team have time to play so many levels so frequently. But they rarely disappoint!

Also, I'm so grateful for my level being spotlighted. In the few hours that the Central Hub 90 has been published, my level has almost tripled in the number of plays! That's incredible, and I'm grateful to the spotlight team for taking the time to play my level and write wonderful things about it for the community to see

This is happiest day in my LBP life !
Thank you Hubbie, thank you Spotlight Crew for Spotlight, and thank you Biorogue and Chazprime for awesome reviews
And congrats to all spotlighted and mentioned !

I just have to add one thing: look at reviews on Spotlight level http://lbp.me/v/c59f6n/reviews. Bunch of idiots sequentially booed reviews and that is a clear answer to all opponents of the removing of "boo", in this example we can see what would be with good levels if boo option remained.

Thanks for the spotlight and the nod! I was actually going for a spotlight with those LBP1 levels, so i guess it worked out well Every level in this spotlight episode is pretty amazing good job by everyone who got spotlighted, and for those who didn't make it: Practice makes perfect! Keep creating and you will eventually make into the spotlights!

Also, a big lol at the reviews on lbp.me. I think they should try and publish something nice here instead of complaining about never getting picked. Don't let those reviews stop you Hubbie, you're doing a great thing for the lbp community!

If it's not too much trouble, could the link to my piston inc. level be updated in the hub and this thread? For some reason, the level went missing.
