Minecraft is a sandbox construction game created by Markus Persson, the game is currently in pre release alpha. Minecraft development started around the 10th of May 2009, pre-orders for the full game started being accepted on the 13th of June.

The game involves players creating and destroying various types of blocks in a three dimensional environment. The player takes an avatar that can destroy or create blocks, forming fantastic structures, creations and artwork across the various multiplayer servers in multiple game modes.

Mobs
Creepers are the green monsters that explode. Stay away from them, or use a bow!
Skeletons fire arrows at you. Strafe them and hit them with your sword!
Spiders are dangerous due to their jumping range and long hit range. They're harmless in daytime, though. Don't hit them!
Zombies are slow, albeit dangerous. Kill them easily by hitting them, going back, and repeating.
Ghasts are the **** your **** up kind of things. They float and fire fireballs at you, kill them by hitting the balls back at them.

It's annoying how rare rain and thunderstorms are in the minecraft world, so here's a way to force them to happen!

Firstly, download NBTedit

Launch the program and locate the world of your choice at:
C:\Users\*Username*\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\sav es\

Open the world folder and select the level.dat inside.



You should be presented with this screen, simply change the values of raining or thundering from 0 to 1 to enable them. The rainTime and thunderTime values also affect how long the weather will last, setting them to something like 999999999 will make the weather almost permanent.

did you try decreasing view distance? press F and fog will appear, it'll make the game run a little smoother on some PC's.

use sponge if you're exploring caves, because sponge prevents water from flowing trough

controls are beneath the game window
but to help you...

use your mouse scroller to switch between blocks on your "bar". press B to change that block to another type.
left mouse is delete a block, right click and left mouseclick becomes placing a block.
you'll get used to it
