Same here. But it's only Minecraft. In some other games I play F11 does make it go fullscreen.
EDIT:
Everyone who's getting blackscreens, instead of pressing F11, try just expanding your Minecraft window with your mouse to get somewhat of the "fullscreen" resolution.
I tested it a bit and I did notice a slight FPS increase, but only by 2-3 FPS.Last edited by TheNerd; 04-24-2011 at 02:06 AM.

That's wierd because it's exactly my point. Using the true fullscreen mode makes the game running better than simply expanding the window. It's EXTREMELY wierd if you have a better FPS the other way around. I informed myself a tad more on what happens and why the game runs better in fullscreen (with F11) and it's because when you expand the windows, the OS isn't closing certain applications while when you get into true fullscreen mode, windows does close them and you gain alot of speed.Same here. Long story short, it's a windows related issue and a Minecraft's one.Currently studying level design!

No dude. NO.
GameBooster is dangerous because it deletes your processes. Processes are vital programs that run aspects of your computer. My mom once deleted a process and we lost access to the computer for 3-4 weeks before we had to get someone to inject a new processor into the computer.
If you want to improve your performance, set fog to normal or lower, and then open task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete) and go into processes. Find 'java' and right-click on it. Go to 'set priority...' and set to 'AboveNormal' to little lagg, 'High' for minimal lagg,' or 'Realtime' for smooth performance. (Mind you, realtime is quite unreliable and could crash your comuter)

Uh, GameBooster gives you a list of all of the processes it's shutting down and shows what each one does. If you see one that is important, you can just exclude it.

I'm not quite sure.
Who here has a 32-bit operating system, and who has a 64-bit?

Good call! It's faily possible it doesn run the same depending you're 32bits or 64bits.
Personally I am on 64bits Windows both at home and at the office.Currently studying level design!

i'm running windows vista 32 bit on an intel core 2 quad with 2gb of ram and a......uh...i forget the gfx card....9800gt chipset with 1gb ram? don't rememer the manufacture. As stated earlier, i have no probs using f11 to put it to fullscreen and can't really tell a diff in framerate either way.

Mod support is coming to Minecraft!

I wonder how much integration there will be, such as pages on the main MC website that will feature the mods themselves?

Notch just tweeted this:

EDIT: More info: http://notch.tumblr.com/Players carrying the same map (!) will clearly be marked on the map. You might be able to mark locations as well. Probably. MaybeLast edited by Alec; 04-27-2011 at 06:07 PM.

I was bored.
The minecraft version is slightly different from the original version. Took me a good 30-40 minutes to make it right.
