I played this, and I don't understand it at all... there are no in-game tutorials telling me how to make stuff. I only tried it out because my friends at school are totally obsessed with it and I feel ostracised when they talk about it. I try it out, and to be honest, it's kind of crappy. The only thing I actually enjoyed was punching Creepers to death. The creators need to improve by adding in game tutorials that are toggleable telling you how to make swords and crafting tables.

So Notch mentioned an adventure update for 1.8. anyone know what this'll contain? I don't think I've heard anything about it before.

@Jakest123 Calling a game crappy cause you don't understand it isn't a very backed-up argument. There are tons of tutorials on youtube, and personally, when I got the game, discovering things out by myself was pretty awesome.

Basically everything that was planned for 1.7, they just decided to release pistons early and have everything else in 1.8

    What a shame...
Though I agree they need basic in-game tutorials. Luckily I had watched a whole Let's Play before I jumped in

I try to keep the game as vanilla as possible for now. For Bahamut I actually mined/gathered everything I needed except for the Lapis Lazuli I needed for purple dye.

For the floating islands I'm just abusing the /give command a lot for dirt (so that I don't need to strip mine the surrounding area clean and constantly move down to the ground and then back to the sky). I'm letting the grass grow naturally by making a "dirt chain" all the way to the ground.

@Jakest123: The game was hard to get into at first, but there's a lot of tutorials online and the wiki is a must resource. Eventually you get the hang of the game and it gets pretty fun to build crazy structures while hunting down resources and fending off the locals, specially when playing with other people.

I didn't understand Minecraft when I first played it but I still loved it, I had built everything out of dirt because I didn't know how to make items such as a pickaxe. Determined to dig a tunnel I made a 2x1 tunnel that went about 40 blocks deep with my bare hands...

...AAAAnd, the race to the bukkit update is on now that 1.7 is released. According to the latest forum posts on bukkit.org, the latest non-reccommended is pretty bug free, so i'm just waiting for it to become a reccommended before i have to update it as well as everything else!

  15. Thanks!

Welp, I finally decided to try the demo and see what this was all about.

...AND I'M TOTALLY ADDICTED! Now I know what I've been missing out on.

I'm gonna load up some money and buy it later today.

    OH YEAH! Check these out!

    Ruins!

    NPC Villages! And giant mushrooms!

1.8 will be the best update to date! Albeit the ugliness of the NPC village.

well, i'm trying to update the server. and. i must say. this is going to suck on levels that would make a Dyson vac running at twice it's designed current jealous.

see, the teeny, tiny, effing huge problem is thus.....I have to completely re-do permissions.

Don't expect to be able to do anything other than walk around for a while.

edit: well, it was easy to fix, actually. tho the new convoluted structure of the permissions plugin makes me want to smite someone.

also, I'll be adding a jail plugin so that the judges have something entertaining to do.

I had a hunch that Minecraft would be popular around here. LBP and Minecraft are the most creative games ever, after all Too bad there is no multiplayer support whatsoever, having to host a server is such a pain... I recently found out my laptop has one of the worst layouts ever that makes it overheat way too easily. When I play Minecraft single-player it heats up like a stove and going online is the drop of water in the full cup that makes it overheat, even with every option set to low. Only when I'll buy a good desktop will I be able to play my PC games without anything melting down

Try putting a glass of ice beside the fan. Cools mine down, and I get a glass of water
And does anyone want Minecraft to come to PS3? Like the way it's coming to 360.
