Thought I'd drop by and leave a couple of screenshots from Memodrix's server

DeKernelM's house- Arguably the most talented architect on the server.

The Spawn Plateau, complete with market place, fountain, main office and a little hill town in the distance with DekernelM's house.

The 4 "Oram Friend Towers", built by me, with another brilliant house built by DeKernelM (thanks bud!)

I've been playing Minecraft Classic a lot in school for a while, and it's awesome.

So when I get a computer which can run Minecraft properly I'll start playing.

Here's some screenshots of the floating continent I've been working on and off, inspired by the Kingdom of Zeal from Chrono Trigger. For the record, I didn't use any flight cheats to build this, and only died about five times by falling off (including once when I jumped down into the lake and misjudged the depth).

Spoiler - OMG SO MANY SCREENS!

The floating islands, defying the laws of gravity. They could get arrested!

Edit: Also, I wanted to check out Memodrix's server, but I fell down a hole and couldn't get back up, and I couldn't open the door to get out either, so I'm pretty much stuck in some random room with a switch lol.

If you get stuck on my server, you can just type /spawn. At least, i think anybody can still use that. I'll go make sure......*wanders off*

hmm that looks OK... but I'm not sure.
i kinda like the idea of doing it all by hand. was thinking of rebuilding all the ground and walls
and whatnot in to the right pattens in game myself without looking for sonic texture packs.
but i don't even own the game so i've no real idea yet what i will or won't do

Spoiler - Adventure log

Came across some constructs on my way out of the spawning zone.
Got chased by creepers and entered/fell into a strange tunnel in the sea.
Explored the cave and got ambushed by a zombie, which I promptly dispatched with my trusty feather.
Further exploration of the cave revealed a nest of monsters.
Bravely used the spawn function to return and alert the townsfolk.
Left again towards another direction.
Came across a strange set of floating dirt formations, man-made?
Sleeping out at sea, the monsters cannot get me here.
The morning sun has vanquished the horrible night.
Came across some giant tunnels that seem to have been blasted through a pair of mountains. What terrible creature must have made these tunnels?
They must have used lava, as there as a lava bath nearby.
Uh oh, they seem to be keeping squids captive in a tiny pool as livestock, I'd better get out of here!
Sleeping at sea once again, closer to the shore this time. The creepers and skeletons watch menacingly.

Aether mod just got released. Pretty much adds in another "realm" like the nether but a crap load better with tons of new stuff. It's been a WIP for a couple of months now and it's made by some of the best modders in the mc community so should be good.

Seems my adventure has come to a close. I was adventuring in the nether when I got bored of that place and went to the portal to go back... except that just as I was in the middle of teleporting, a giant creepy white thing blew up the portal and now it no longer works!

Ironically, it seems that I am stuck in another dimension. Guess I'd better go and find Bartz.

You can relight it by getting a ghast to fire on it again.

Or with a flint n steel if you have that.

Editing textures is easy, you just edit your own textures over the original textures (as seen here):

And then put a zip version of everything into the MC texture folder.

There are more complicated things but editing the terrain file is the biggest and easiest part.
