I've submitted tickets for the problems with the server host. Seeing as the guy tends to respond within the hour, i'd give it.....well i dunno whats wrong, but we'll see right?

it's up! its a new it, but it's up! i hope. still double checking all the stuffs. when i log in i can make sure money/lvls and all that crap is still working. atm its building the new world.

We don't need plugins if we have creative mode though, I suppose if that'd be easier!

If the server goes down again, or if a temporary solution is still wanted, I can host it as creative at first, and then attempt to migrate the creations into a multi-player survival map, if that's possible (sorry - I've little experience with Creative Mode).


Edit: I've been able to add bukkit (latest version) to the server I've been working on , but, as I only learnt how to port-forward earlier today, it might be a little while longer until I can find a way to enable the server to work cross-networks over the internet, rather than just over my local area network through a router.

2nd Edit: I've been able to configure a fairly viable server - let me know if it goes down again, and I'll be able to host during the main server's downtime.

Notch and Jeb have mentioned that they are going to crank out as many new features as they can for ~2 weeks, then stop all major updates to hammer out all the bugs they can for the month before MineCon/the first full release. This means that it won't be long before everything is as it was before!

Oh yes... I ended up getting 5 stacks of mossy stone brick, which take about 3 seconds to mine each... Ugh

Ok so I created a floating island as I said I would. However, its been several hours, and the dirt I placed on the top STILL hasnt grown any grass. I even tried putting in water around it(not ON it) and nothing. Whats up with that? Also, the server just went down.

Grass spreads. A dirt block requires grass nearby in order for it to spread.

Funny, 10 minutes after posting that I a. was able to log back into the server and b. discovered way more than I wanted to know about growing grass. Its working now though. When I come back in the morning, my island had better be covered.

If you right click the air with a hoe so it says "You ready your Hoe" then right click on the patch of dirt (or cobble) it will turn it into grass (or mossy cobble) depending on if you have seeds in your inventory.
