And I did a bit of research, and he only lives about 20-40 minutes from me, and my friend likely already met him. Small world.

Cool idea for a server prison: make a deep pit with a super-hard parkour course spiraling up along the walls. Convicted griefers must climb it to escape, Dark Knight Rises style. For the full effect, the other prisoners should repeat the "deshi basara" chant in worldchat while one of them is attempting to climb out.

Also, whilst not open to the public yet, I am in the process of building a special world. it will include the following:

limited build/destroy/place perms
LOTS OF STUFF THAT LIKES TO EAT YOU!!!
PVP Everywhere!
Kind of like Zmod, but with spiders and skeletons, and stuff. Oh, and you won't be able to break spawners.

Excellent! We can download plenty of schematics and such, generate a nice not-so-hilly world like the MineZ server, and it will rule.
I'll look into the best mods for the job tomorrow! Though no doubt Tanrock will beat me to it and do so before I get back, so I'll PRETEND I'm looking into it, just to motivate him ;P

This should be a challenge game more than a punishment. Punishment does not involve giving offenders something fun to do.

Make something that looks like a flaw in the prison design but that would take hours of trying until getting it right, only to find out that the flaw wasn't there and they can't get out. Griefers are harmless if their keyboard is broken.

Good idea. And make it frustratingly hard and based on trial and error. Dead ends, multiple paths, pistons that push them over, sections that close off if the climbers take too long, strafe jumps, precision jumps onto tiny platforms, etc.

So this is where it all began...

Alright guys! the new snapshot is out and I took it upon myself to show you guys what's in it!
First off, some new items.

on the left we have something called the Nether Star, I'm not sure what it does but I'm almost certain it's used to summon the wither boss.

And on the left we have the new CARROT ON A STICK.
Don't get too excited, it's not as great as it seems. Even though it lets you control pigs when riding them, they're slower than a turtle stuck in honey. But it can also be used to herd pigs from further away!



Below those items you will notice some fancy new mob heads... Creeper, zombie, steve, skeleton and... Wait, what is that?
I'll get to that in a second. The mob heads are pretty cool, they can be placed either on the wall, or on the floor.



As you can see, they can be placed at many angles when on the ground as well.
I killed 120+ creepers, and only 4 of them dropped a head, so this item looks like it'll be pretty rare.

Also, if any of you remember the beacon block, or "WIP" block in the snapshot before the last one, it's back!
And it's got a new design, which I think makes it look a lot better.




And finally, that mob head.
It is from a new Nether mob called the Wither Skeleton.



They are taller, stronger, and a little faster than a normal skeleton, oh, and THEY HAVE SWORDS.
This also proves that the Wither boss is going to be a Nether boss like I had guessed.
