Well I just got minecraft and would be interested in joining the server (potentially with Tjaldex if he can fix his pc) but I'd need to know how to update to the version you guys are using (I'm on the vanilla version and a complete noob at pc gaming so be gentle =p) and what the IP is.

I'll check back on this thread often or someone could send me a Pm with a quick guide on how to join.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure I like all the stuff they keep adding to Minecraft. I don't really like each block having different sounds. To be quite honest once again, If I end up hating 1.4, I'll probably just drag one of my 1.2.5 bins out of my hard drive.

But adding bats is pretty cool!

Well Im pretty sure your game is already updated, so if you go to Multiplayer and press "add server" then in the IP box type this:

72.249.124.170

EDIT: If that didn't work, try typing this:

72.249.124.170:25565

Anyway, finally fixed my computer's overheating problem! Is it possible to play on a server with a mediocre laptop?

don't see why not. just to be safe set all yer settings in MC to minimum and then work your way up.

Ey-nope. One of the three rules for my server (that I have to make myself follow) is 'Ye shall not interrupt vanilla compatibility!' (the other two are 'Pay the bill!' and 'Log on for at least 2 hours a month!')

Just a heads up, there is a free dome for anyone who wants it in the snow biome north of spawn, it has comfortable living space, an indoor pool and a nether portal leading to a work in progress nether station.

I've found a mushroom island in the ocean and am in the process of relocating my stuff... I'm off to be a mooshroom herder XD

well the reason I've not been on is because Minecraft got really laggy after the fog key was removed, the fog key really helped with lag, so if anyone wants to buy a gaming PC for me I'll start playing again.

Yea. I'm looking at going down to a smaller server since we don't really need what we have. I was thinking of just canning it, but...I still do get the urge to play every now and then.

I'd also like to make it a more....difficult server. Fewer mods and the like. But eh.

Added huts for the witch in swamps
Added superflat preset "Redstone Ready" with a 52 layers of sandstone, 3 layers of stone, and 1 layer of bedrock
Flatworld configuration now allows you to generate trees, strongholds etc
Now pumpkins, tall grass, flowers, trees, mineshafts, dungeons, strongholds, lakes, desert wells, ravines and ores will spawn on superflat maps
A number of new NBT tags for items (intended for custom map makers)
Better inventory management
The pick block action now works on items
Pressing the 1-9 hotkeys while hovering over an item will put that item into the inventory bar
In creative mode, you can now shift-click items from the hotbar to the survival inventory screen
The left-click action will no longer open doors, pull levers, push buttons or open trapdoors. Use the right mouse button!
Firespread has been slightly nerfed again to prevent infinitely spreading fires
Beacon Texture altered, as well as the beam.
Slimes now spawn in Swamps at night.
