I have a mediocre laptop, get about 25 FPS on the LBPC server (average 5 people online). With tekkit I still get around 25. Its not much of a difference, just put all Optifine settings on the lowest, fog off, and render distance on tiny.

Yeah, you need to install the Tekkit launcher online. Don't worry, you don't have to do anything to Minecraft, and can still get on LBPC without having to uninstall anything :3

you shouldn't be restricted to travelling to the nether as nobody owns it... make the portal anyway, if it cuts across land when you return then people will just have to deal with that for a few minutes while you evacuate... shouldn't even be a problem with /home

If I claim land in the Nether, it is the same as claiming it in the Overworld. I can choose who is allowed on it, and who isn't. Could you please explain to me why you cannot wrap your head around this?

You mistake morality for ignorance...

just because you can control that land doesn't mean that you should or have the right to. I don't recall anyone else on the server trying to ban people from their land like you have... I know my tree city gets visited all the time... do I stop people... no... because I don't own the land in any shape or form, it's a public space and so belongs to everyone.

"but what if people destroy my work or steal my stuff?" you may ask. Well that's different, they will have griefed and then the mods can take over and deal with he threat, but as long as they physically leave your structures / items alone you have no reason to complain.

anyway... it's pointless attempting to claim land as you have no way to police the territories claimed, you can't be online all the time or stop every intruder.

Ooh, was that your tree city (Which has a nether portal aswell.)? I love it! I always find it and forget where it lies, just to encounter it again.
