1) I have no right to bar visitors from my home? Explain the logic in that, please. Last I checked, if I don't want visitors I am allowed to keep them out.
2) Your city is a public place that you built for others to visit. My home is a private place for my cohort and I to live.

1. because they are not travelling to your home voluntarily... they are getting stranded there by nether portal (as underworld portals are not created for each on the surface and do not return you to the original overworld portal unless it is the original one created) Essentially you enforcing this land rule is the same as punishing a person that has been taken hostage rather than the person who orchastrated it all. If you don't want people in your home then move your nether portal out of it.1) I have no right to bar visitors from my home? Explain the logic in that, please. 2. I did not build my tree city to be public, I built it for me alone... but that doesn't mean that it isn't public as I did not own the territory to begin with and therefore have no more claim over it than everyone else... I will act if someone alters my city without my permission as I put work into it... but not simply in reaction to their presense there.
secondly... I originally built the city in the sky... so it's technically not taking up any land... except for a small box (6 blocks squared) at the base when I converted it into a tree...
3. well if they portal into your house / land and then have their movement disabled... you're not going to get rid of them very fast... why not just let them leave? or what's to stop someone using that command on your land and disabling you?
@Nys, yes that's my city, and yes it has a nether portal (like every other residence on the server), feel free to come up and visit... if we're both online at the same time someday, I'll even give you the obsidian you'll need to cover the cost of a portal... or anyother resource you might need (If I can spare it).

Whatever. As long as people can come out at your portal because nobody can have full control on which portal to come out and do not get the dogs released upon them immediately, I think it's reasonable.1) I have no right to bar visitors from my home? 1) Not really my problem if the game decides that a portal that is over 200 blocks away doesn't require its own portal.1. because they are not travelling to your home voluntarily... they are getting stranded there by nether portal (as underworld portals are not created for each on the surface and do not return you to the original overworld portal unless it is the original one created) Essentially you enforcing this land rule is the same as punishing a person that has been taken hostage rather than the person who orchastrated it all. 2) City implies public. Home implies private. Y u no understand?
3) They can teleport out. And if they can't move, they aren't too likely to stay very long.
Also, is your sense of "chivalry" (? For lack of a better word) getting ahead of you? My issue was originally with Mags. That issue has been resolved. Why do you continue to argue with me?
In the coming days, I plan to build a large fortress around my portal since I have run out of things to do in the Overworld. Thus making my portal in the nether an extension of my house. Even though it already is.

What you nor anyone else has control over is where a nether portal takes you. If someone appears in your house, all they can do is LEAVE IT as quickly and as directly as possible. Should you facilitate that exit is up to you, but highly recommended if you don't want people staying in there for long. Your best bet? Make the portal outside your house.
I've disabled the set move flag, because it is an evil, evil flag. If for some reason it has become undisabled, and someone gets stuck in it, that person can type /res unstuck. But as I said, you need to facilitate the exit or move the portal outside.
They can teleport many places, but people CHOOSE not to, and we allow them to do so. It's why I've been building the entire railway system.1) Not really my problem if the game decides that a portal that is over 200 blocks away doesn't require its own portal.

It's less a sense of chivalry, and more being concerned for other players that gladly wish to stay out of your home, but cannot because your portal gravitates them to it.
So just to make that clear;
I will try to sort the portals out. If that does not work, you will have to facilitate the exit of players, OR move your nether portal to somewhere you don't mind people popping out.“Be the one who nurtures and builds. It's not really our fault either. We just want to visit the Nether without having to build a portal in the middle of nowhere.
Can't you just move your portal to outside your house like everyone else does?

TLDR;
I haven't even tried to read the last few posts. Not gonna either.
1. You have a right to keep people out of your house.
2. House /= land. You can't keep people off of your land, so quit yer crying.
3. Nether/portals DO NOT COUNT as your land. That's like trying to claim the end. Unless you intend to build a house in the nether, where the same rules for the overworld apply.
4. I shouldn't have to repeat myself on this. Ever again.

I've shuffled around the nether portals after a few hours of painstaking work in the nether (God I hate Mojang for this). And now Your new portal links perfectly with your home. Mags', David's and Gameasertm's portals all also link up to their respective overworld portals.
If anyone makes any new portals that link to any of these,
a) I'm going to force lava so far down your throat that you poop obsidian,
b) both parties are going to have to get over it.
In other news, station W2 now has a subway underneath it, leading to CaveMan12345 and joeyjoeymc's island. Took me a long long time to make that and split it up into paste-able modules, cus WorldEdit throws a hissy fit whenever I try to paste any structure that is particularly long.Last edited by Weretigr; 11-19-2012 at 11:54 PM.

So I have heard a rumor that we are getting a portal to the 1.0 world with the huge spawn. Is this true???

Tried to say this earlier on the map but my messages wouldn't send...I've shuffled around the nether portals after a few hours of painstaking work in the nether (God I hate Mojang for this). And now Your new portal links perfectly with your home. Mags', David's and Gameasertm's portals all also link up to their respective overworld portals.
Quick fix would be to use the Multiverse Portals teleportation to link nether portals having issues.

It crossed my mind, but MV Portals is still no more than a dev build at the moment, and I've been too busy and tired to deal with the hassle of installing and configuring MORE plugins.
