It's not the redstone update, they're still working on that. That one'll be 1.5. This is one they wanted done by New Year's and just are pushing it so they get there in time.

Anyone trying out the new snapshot: can you throw fireworks manually or can you only deploy them via dispenser? Because it'd be the coolest thing if we could use them as flares or smoke bombs, but it'd be a pain in the behind if we needed to set up a dispenser first.

EDIT: turns out you can use them both ways! So we can use them as distress signals... and wait patiently as no one shows up.

This is revolutionary for raiding bases on PVP/Raid servers.

Turns out Sethbling forgot to mention this in his previous snapshot video. Yes, you can now enchant books and then combine them with an item in the anvil. Basically, you can use the books to STORE enchantments and use them whenever you want, with whichever weapon or armor you want.

No more super-expensive diamond items wasted on an enchantment you don't need. No more dying and losing all your XP because you were holding out until you had diamond gear to use it on. Hell yeah!

I've been hearing about this FTB quite a lot. People draw comparisons between that and Tekkit. What's it about?

It's like Tekkit, but has slightly different mods. It's also legal... :P I personally like it better than Tekkit, as well. The biome mod (Extra Biomes XL) is much better than the Tekkit one. If you want to try it out, you can download the launcher here and join my server (72.51.43.74:27865). It's whitelist, so you need to let me know if you want to try it out.

I haven't played it personally, but from what I've heard they're both modpacks with similar mods but a few differences (e.g. FTB has Forrestry but no Equivalent Exchange (though I think I heard EE will be in FTB3)). Also, unlike Tekkit, in FTB you have the option to disable individual mods if you don't like them. Finally, FTB was made with the consent of the mod creators, Tekkit wasn't.

On a side note- I have a 10 person Mumble server I don't use (Came free with my MC server) so if any of you want to use it, you can haz it.

Mumble is an open source, low-latency, high quality voice chat software primarily intended for use while gaming.
