I, too, was involved. We cleaned up the mess from it and all. We really didn't want to do this, really.

I only got involved because I thought the cake itself was a huge grief from your old house. I honestly had no idea you built it until we were done cleaning up the mess.

Not sure if notch is joking or not but he mentioned adding cookies into the game on his twitter then went on to say but that requires cocoa so maybe there are cookies

I just added the cookie to 1.4, but you need cocoa beans to craft it.. Hmm.

All the griefing you and Inanimacy are doing, no one is liking it. No-one. While we were cleaning the ruins of your house, we were talking about if we should actually feel bad for you. At one point it even came up that the server was funner without you and Inanimacy there. When we finished cleaning the ruins of your house, we almost evacuated the whole city in fear that you would blow it all up! I think it's time to realize that the server isn't just for you, it's for everybody. Here's a list of changes I think will make it all better:

I didn't grief anything, the only griefing I did was with the obsidian and water, all which would take about a minute to fix, no destruction, just additions. And I only did that griefing because you flooded my house when I went to eat.

-De-op or even ban Inanimacy. People really want this, and they want it set in stone.

I'm not banning Inanimacy, get over it.

-Stop griefing. It's pretty obvious this amuses no one.

Never griefed with the exception of your house, which again would be easy to fix.

-Stop hiding TNT. People have died, and people don't find it funny.

I've yet to hide any TNT I have no idea what you can be talking about.

I was joking, I didn't even think he would do it. Wow Whaaaale, just wow. You cheated to get the items anyways, and it probably only took 10 minutes to build. This cake is just as easy to fix as my house.
Also, I didn't flood your house when you went to eat. That was dasbas I think. I was just seeing what was going on...

To be honest, I missed the post and thought it was Inan because of a sign that said "Love Inan c:" and the doors were obsidianed up and was flooded. I thought he built the cake and wrecked your home, so I thought it was ok that it was being burned, and I'm sure I wasn't the only one to assume that. Of course, joining in in the first place was a bad idea, but we all cleaned up the mess and admitted we did this all. If we were evil griefers, would we admit we did this all? I don't think so, so just let this drama about Whaaaaale's Baked Alaska alone and just move on. It's just a game, anyways, right?

I wish we could have a server that generates a new map periodically like every week or two, that way nothing is precious and it's all about survival with friends

and not about who can build the biggest or best anything :P

Here's me being super happy to play in single player mode. The mode were you get all the fun, gratification, space you want AND you lose nothing. Winning mode of play by far!

In all seriousness, I dunno if Notch thought about it but there's a way of getting rid of ALL griefing with minimal coding effort (probably). He should add 1 little info about a block status: who placed it.
This way, we could have an option "griefing on/off" and when it's on, you can only break the stuff YOU placed. Griefing would then become harder because an account hack would be needed in order to do so.

EDIT: well, that wouldn't really work after all because griefers would become "blockers" and they would bury your stuff with their blocks!!

I love it too, but when it comes to showing people your creations, the only option is to put up a download link.

Read up on griefers here: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Griefer Mind that some things are from Classic mode so things like water floods don't happen anymore.

And classy griefers sound better than the common one.
