I've tried using backups and get the same message, is it possible this is happening because of the update? :/

Have you updated MCAdmin? Chances are it has to do with the update.

Don't think there is an update for MCAdmin seeing as how when it starts it automatically searches for one.

To be safe, I'd just wait some time until an update comes out. Other than that, I have no idea. I don't and haven't ran a server before.

Yeah that's what I'm going to do, going to go on the forums and see what's up. Hopefully I didn't mess up with the backups and now can't even load our server. O_O

Server won't be updated until the admin updates MCAdmin guys. Don't know how long it'll take, hopefully not too long. But on the bright side, found the funniest conversation in a thread..

McMyAdmin can cope with 1.4 already.

Alright so as of lately I have been thinking of switching from MCAdmin, our current server thingy, to CraftBukkit, or Bukkit. And I wanted to get everyones opinion on this. There is a lot of great stuff that Bukkit has that MCAdmin unfortunately probably will never have. So here we go...


CraftBukkit

CraftBukkit is essentially the new HMod. HMod was one of the best servers to use before the creator was tired of Minecraft and essentially stopped all work on HMod.

Bukkit is as of right now, one of the greatest ways to run a server, it is used by almost every decent server, comes with great support and tons of tons of plugins/mods... Here is a list of all the plugins/mods.

Economy

• iConomy
• RealShop

Loot/Drops

• DropBonus
• OtherBlocks

Moderation

• Big Brother

Transport Mods/Teleportation

• Minecart-Mania
• Warp Gate
• Nethergate
• Superjump

Role Playing Games

• WorldEdit

Now of course, we won't be using all of these plug ins, a lot of them are just simply too confusing and will require a lot of time on my part, I've put a link on the ones we will most likely be using. And even then it will probably take a while before all of them are in our server, but I will try my best to get them on it ASAP.

We might lose the current world we are building in, I said might because I may be able to transfer it over but there is a chance it just doesn't transfer.

I recommend you all check out the plugins and do a little reasearch on Bukkit before voting. For example, iConomy/RealShop will be amazing. And BigBrother sounds freaking AWESOME. Big Brother is watching you...

We will not be using WorldEdit, it will just be downloaded but permission will only be available to the Admin. And I will only be using it when we're griefed or an accident happens.

Hmm, I moved our world to the Bukkit server and it loads just fine. Server is just outdated and that's not up to me. So I guess we won't be losing anything.

EDIT: Idea ! Set up a dog pen with entrances from inside the building and outside near a window or door or any viewing area. When a creeper comes soliciting at your door step you simply flip a switch and release the hounds !

Server is now up with CraftBukkit. Lots of work to do so it's very bare right now. Matter of fact it's just like a Vanilla server except the fact that our names are in colors and there is a welcome message, motd, and rules.

There are restricted commands that I didn't touch, however every command seems to be restricted so no one other than OP and Admin can use them, will need to fix that later. There will be an economy, everyone starts with 500 dollars. One kit, diamond kit, however the diamond kit as of right now is free since I am not using it properly/or the plug in hasn't been updated.

There are protection signs, place one near a chest and the only person that will be open it is you, unless you want more people to open it, then you just add their name to the sign (very cool IMO.)

Lots of more signs like this, however none work as of right now since the plug in doesn't seem to be updated, or I'm doing something wrong but I don't think I am.

EDIT : Bukkit is VERY VERY hard to use, I'm learning so give it time guys, have already messed up the code twice already and basically destroyed every plugin, all because I put two spaces in a line instead of one. Much like coding something, spacing and capitalization is key, and I need to double check I put everything correctly everytime, so once again bare with me.

By the way, if you need a custom plugin or something, I can try to code it. I'm lookin for ideas to get more used to Bukkits API.
