Just because "some things" end doesn't mean that the world doesn't end every year.

    This needs to stop now.
Please stay on topic or further action will need to be taken.
Let the mods take care of whether a thread has gone off topic.

I'm trying to convince people to believe that I'm not trying to derail the thread. It was ----- who continued the Hostess thing. Either way, ------ said that one post too early. It's considered a change after three posts on one thing without any mentions of the original topic.

Anyway, back to the 2012 topic. I read some predictions on the uncyclopedia about how the world will end. They are really silly. One prediction said that Pluto will collide with the Earth to get revenge for what happened six years ago.

    Dang, beat me to it.....

Apple, don't start an argument and point fingers. It doesn't have to be that way.

Yeah, and the Mayan world has already ended, so their prophecies shouldn't depend on our life.

Yes, this. Besides, if we, with our vast knowledge and rapidly advancing technology, can't predict the world, who in their right mind would think that the Mayan's can? If they could, and I say that very liberally, it would only be voodoo magic nonsense and be based around superstition. The end of the world can't be mathematically calculated (at least not before it's too late) without advanced technology that the Mayan's lacked.

That's another thing. Not only that, the Bible said that you may never know when the world will end. You can never predict when the world ends. I can predict what could happen in 2012 back in 2011, but nobody can predict when the world ends. In fact, like what someone said earlier, people have made predictions of the world ending multiple times. The last major one is May 21st 2011. I understand December 21st 2012, but why did they pick May 21st 2011? What was supposed to happen?

I find the most interesting thing about all of this is the fact that if the world were to end, there'd be nothing we can do about it, rendering talking about it just as pointless as trying to survive it.

  10. Thanks!

I dont get why all dates when the world is supposed to end are the 21st.

Was this the Mayan unlucky number or something?

Imagine all the suicides and murders and crime and robbery and law breaking and hacking and trolling and stolen property and used credit cards... And then what do you know the world is not ending. It has a few billion years left. Actually, the earth CAN'T end only the sun can

Because it has some kind of symmetry with 2012, and we all know that symmetry is the devil's work.

Wow, I just went downstairs and found a documentary on Nat Geo playing about, what else, the end of the world. It was about these people preparing for the Apocalypse by building shelters, buying supplies, purchasing cars taller than their own homes, etc.
Yeah, on that car taller than a house note, that was a young couple with an infant. They bought an army truck that was literally taller than their house, just in case the world started ending. Other than a shelter, I have no idea where these guys are going to drive it if the world is sort of destroyed. It's not like they can just pull up at the nearest CostCo after the Apocalypse and salvage all the food they can because they were hiding in a giant truck. You should've seen how it looked in their driveway. It's like keeping an elephant in your backyard. Probably a pain to parallel park.
I guess those are the measures people will take to protect themselves. Most of these people just threw their lives away to spend money and time on building apocalyptic stuff. Dedication.

Some people killed their children so they didn't have to witness it, and quit their jobs. Imagine how they'll be when it doesn't end.

Sounds like we're heading for another great disappointment.

Wow. That's exactly what I've been thinking. What about those guys who pretty much said "screw it, the world's ending"? They want it so that they have nothing to lose, but when the realize that life goes on...that'd be terrible. KILLING your children? Quitting your job? Yeah, I'd hate to be that person on December 22. That's seriously sad.

I... Are you serious? This may have been the dumbest reply I've ever seen on LBPC. Ever.
