Einstein theorized that time exists as blankets, one above the other.

the present is here, the past is below, the future above, and so on throughout all infinity.

He also proposed that matter creates "gaps" and "hills" in the space time continum. So, the larger a piece of matter, the larger the dent.

Some propose that, by gathering enough matter into a single spot, we can create a large enough hill to "reach" another space time "blanket". If both blankets are generating the matter, we COULD create a window to another period in time- time travel.

However, where are we going to get enough matter to POSSIBLY create this gap?

Energy... and matter are the SAME THING. According to Einstein.

Since energy and matter seem to be the same substance, if we gather enough energy... we MIGHT be able to create a time travel portal- if Einstein is correct.

However, we can't travel whenever- ONLY as long as the machine is on. If the machine stops at ANY point in time, there is NOTHING to create the gap in space time, as the energy isn't released, and thus, we won't be able to see the past- only the future people of the future can see the past as the beginning of the switch.

Providing, of course, that such a machine doesn't destroy the universe :/.

Perhaps I understood you, but if Energy is Mass because E=MC^2, then X would be Y in an equation like X=YZ^2
