His credits range from features (Scary Movie, Scary Movie 2) to animation (South Park, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Sonic Boom, Class of 3000) to sitcoms (Pair of Kings) to late night (The Keenen Ivory Wayans Show) to daytime (The Donny and Marie Show) to sketch comedy (Frank TV, Cedric the Entertainer Presents). Add that to the fact that he got his start in game shows (Singled Out) and you have a textbook case of a) versatility or b) terrible career management... take your pick. Dave created and executive produced Disney's The Buzz on Maggie, in addition to writing other pilots for Disney Channel, FOX, CBS, Castle Rock Entertainment, and Nickelodeon.

Moments ago at his Trotcon Q&A Panel, Polsky revealed more information about “Sonic Boom” – we're still waiting to see if our source can elaborate more, but early reports indicate that it is a “Pony-esque reboot of the cartoon series”. What, exactly, that means is currently a mystery – Sonic has had no shortage of cartoons over the years, and each one of them involves completely different settings and supporting characters. Any one of them could be rebooted, and it's worth mentioning that one of Polsky's contributions to MLP was, apparently, writing music for an episode, so not even Sonic Underground is out of the question at this time.

UPDATE: Our source caught up with Dave Polsky back stage after the panel and was able to get a little more information out of him regarding “Sonic Boom”. All Polsky would say is that it involves Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy Rose, and would lean towards “comedic in style”, making it sound unconnected to any previous Sonic cartoon.

Supposedly it'll be a comedy based around Sonic.Tails.Knuckles and Amy... No telling who else will make their way in the show yet. And idea if the show will be hand-drawn or CGI yet.

But what we do know is that one of the writers who worked on MyLittlePony and who also worked on some other shows like ScaryMovie2 will be a writer for this show... Make of that what you will.

As I am a super mega huge Sonic fan. I do look forward to to series and pray that it'll be good... Because the last Sonic cartoon "SonicX" that was made 10 years ago, was really horrible. :I

I know there's not much info yet. So not much to talk about. But hopefully we'll hear more soon. *mew

Only Sonic animated series I ever liked was Sonic the Hedgehog "SatAM":

That said, I'm not so sure about the new series' having a comedic bent; not that Sonic was ever 100% serious and I may just be bias towards SatAM's darker tone.

Sonic the Hedgehog, the iconic video game character who has brought his trademark speed and attitude to four TV series and more than 70 video games, is returning to television in his first-ever CG animated series in the fall 2014. The action packed comedy series aimed at children 6-11 will debut first on Cartoon Network in the U.S. and on CANAL J and GULLI in France, with a global rollout to follow. The initial order of 52 eleven-minute episodes is co-produced by SEGA of America Inc. and Genao Productions.
Sonic Boom is a character-driven comedy that leaves a trail of robot wreckage in its smoldering wake. The series centers on Sonic, his best friend and sidekick, Tails, their never-ending search for adventure, and their battles with Sonic’s arch-nemesis, Dr. Eggman. Rounding out the ensemble are fan favorites Knuckles and Amy Rose, plus a rogue’s gallery of enemies—some familiar to Sonic fans and some brand-new.

Those redesigns for this series look so bloody terrible. I know it's only their shadows... But honestly it's still enough to go on. It's Loonatics Unleashed all over again... :<

Why can't we get 1 Sonic series (Not counting Sonic X) Where they use the correct game designs? ... Sigh. So disappointed... But here's to hoping that at least the stories will be fun regardless. *mew

The crew has a new look, and the game ties into the show

At the "Year of Sonic" event, Sega has revealed Sonic Boom -- a new sub-franchise in the Sonic world. The new brand will not only sport the previously announced TV show, but two new games on the Wii U and 3DS. This is the last part of the exclusive deal with Nintendo.

The Wii U game will be headed up by developer Big Red Button (led by a former Naughty Dog art director), and the 3DS version will be handled by Sanzaru Games (the studio that developed the new Sly Cooper). The games will serve as a prequel to the CG TV show.

We didn't get hands on, but based on the footage we've seen of the Wii U version, the worlds look massive, and projectile combat seems to be in. In other words, Sonic Boom is looking a lot like Ratchet & Clank right now. It's also important to note that the CryEngine 3 will be used on the Wii U. Sega of America president and COO John Chen stressed that "Sonic Boom will not be replacing the original franchise."

Thank goodness.

The show so far doesn't look bad to me.... The Tie-in game on the other-hand looks prrrrrrretty bad... at least in my opinion.

Basically, This SonicBoom sub-series is indeed pretty much only made for the western user-base. And in no way will be released in japan. Which again means the main normal sonic series will be left un-effected at least for now.

And whoa, Knuckles seems have gotten really buff. I really don't have a problem with this. It's probably because I'm not used to it.

Robotnik (or eggman) seems to be fine from the trailer.
