    Default Little DIVEKICK

    Little DIVEKICK

    Little DIVEKICK is a tribute to the indie two-button fighter DIVEKICK, and the start of a series of levels I plan to make with frame by frame move-painted animations. In this level you simply press X to jump, and square to either kick or evade (depending on wether you are airbone or not) to literally divekick your way to victory. There's an AI so the level can be played in single player, too.

    Here you have some screenshots:

    And a more detailed look at the animation sprites;

    Hopefully you'll enjoy playing this level as much as I enjoyed making it, and as I say on my profile: The paint tool is awesome you guys! We should make it more relevant.

    Thanks for your time!

    This level perfectly emulates the original, while also maintaining a distinct (and great looking) LBP style. Everything is wonderfully fluid and fast paced without any of the slog that multiplayer games typically have (generally in the form of gratuitous intros and tutorials). You can keep on replaying this for hours without getting bored. Controls may be barebones, but there is plenty of depth. That's the thing with most multiplayer arenas: they don't require much (if any) strategy. This is the opposite: mindlessly pressing buttons leads to failure, and executing a "combo" is very satisfying.

    All in all, this is one of the best multiplayer games on LBP. This deserves to be spotlighted, if not Mm picked. The level is near perfect in every regard, and is a blast to play. Every prospective LBP arena guru should be forced to play this, just to see what good presentation and pacing is. Thank you for this.

    10/10 perfection points

    Oh, so so nice! So nicely done!

    Loved this level - the gameplay is simplicity in itself, a perfect tribute to the original - but the style you worked in with paint is... stunning. I love all the different sprites for sackboy - Having him painted as opposed to using an animated sackbot is a great way to keep that 2d vibe, and you pull it off exceptionally well.

    I can see myself dragging hubby in to this level very often to solve our differences, DIVEKICK STYLE!

    Awesome job.

    THis was phenomenal, if you could create a random backdrop to play in as well as maybe random character generation. I say random so we the players don't get boggled down with the selection menu cause this is definitely a re-playable level. fantastic

    Nice it seems that this level is really well made! I actually queued it before I came here (Thanks to Limi) and I doubt it will disappoint! Consider it Queued!

    My friend and I tried this out earlier today and we instantly got hooked to this. So fun and gets very addicting, we couldn't stop playing this. The option of being able to play against the AI is a good addition, you won't have to wait for friends to get online. Overall this level is fun and worth playing, you guys should definitely play this, queue it up. Great work.

  15. Thanks!

    Played this gem of a level today, and enjoyed it a lot. The sackboys you have animated are terrific and the different poses and faces add a lot of character to this fighter. The background is similarly lovely, making the level almost as enjoyable to look at as it is to play. The gameplay of this versus is the real star though . This simple control scheme actually opens up quite a bit of availability for counter play, as you try and fake your opponent into diving before you, or dodging backward at the last second to claim victory for yourself. It's a ton of fun to play, even against the AI (which is a nice touch for the lonely players among us), and the fast paced matches didn't get dull in any of my playthroughs. I expect I may dive into this level more than a few times with friends in the future, thanks for the level!

  20. Thanks!
