Yes. That's exactly how my setup works, only I rely on my amp's tube distortion rather than a stomp box and my GT-5 equivalent comes in rack format. Of the two variable expression pedals on my pedalboard, one is always controlling volume output, while the other is tied to whatever effect I want (pitch shift, wah, delay mix).So for each guitar I can have a different and distinct bank, each one with a
1.Rhythm/Crunch/Extreme Distortion
2.Clean
3.Overdrive/Hardrock Distortion
4.Lead Chanel
5.Stupid channel with abused effect: Harmonizer or Wah or Pink Floyd style delay...
So my main concern is...
Could I be able to keep this kind of solution with a rack?
My rack is 6U and I still have one space free. The case itself is far lighter (even relatively) - nothing says you need a steelbound ATA flight case. I have both Gator and SKB cases that are lightweight and weigh not much more than a few pounds. However, my amp is sinfully heavy thanks to the two:ninety power amp, bringing the entire rack to around 70lbs (31.5kg). A 10U case probably warrants caster wheels if its loaded up.And yesterday I just browsed a bit...a 10U rack weights 16,5 Kg alone...how much does your rack weights?

How is he modding this stuff exactly?
I just had my power amp into the shop over the winter because I kept blowing fuses on it. Turns out a previous owner had done some mods that rewired one channel through two fuses, while leaving the other channel completely unprotected. My Mesa tech never did figure out what the mod was trying to accomplish, and reset everything back to factory since it was a fire hazard.
My only "mod" these days is running high-end JJ 6L6s instead of the crappy ones Mesa brands.

I should take the email and try to understand and translate..
He lives 150 miles from me (in my birthtown) and haven't seen him for 8 years, so mail is the only way to stay in contact.
I'll try to give a peek later.

Ah those the The Alfee guitars? Some pretty sick designs, albeit completely impractical to play.
The Angel Sword guitar was up on ebay a few years ago. It's the same guitar that makes an appearance in Metalocalypse Season 1 where Skwisgaar is going his Masterclass.

Lol, they're sooooo LOL.
A serious manufacturer like ESP shouldn't do this stuff.
Anyway, seriously speaking, this is one of the coolest looking guitar ever without being ridicolous

Basically the guitar used by Alex Skolnick at the time.

That song sounds and looks like a Japanese knock off/interpretation of "Through the Fire and Flames".... Lol.

Marty Friedman opened a bid for the Jackson Kelly used to record "Rust In Peace" and "Countdown To Extinction"
The money will go in aid of Jason Becker's foundation.

Nice respectable act, though the guitar is really worn out with a bad crack on the neck.
So buying it is just to help a noble cause.

It's too bad I can't stand Jackson's, which is a shame because the Kelly is one of the best looking Explorer designs out there.
It will be interesting to see how much this ends up going for.

Same here...Jacksons are so thin and fragile

Hope the bets will reach the sky, since it's for Jason.
On a side note, Marty plays Saturday night here in Rome, but I really won't bother to go to see him.
But I guess I will go to see Zakk and BLS in June/July...don't even remember when he plays LOL

I saw Zakk play earlier this year along with CoB. Alexi was awesome. But for Zakk, bring earplugs as he feels the need to be 20db louder than every other band - I rarely ever wear them, but I wished I had them for this show. And be prepared for 20 minute guitar solo ****ing.

LOL, got a beer with Alexi when he toured for Hatebreeder, nice guy, but I don't like how he changed his style.
Though I don't know if I'll go.
I hate gigs, every time I go to one I end up punching someone because he's drunk and doesn't allow me to watch the show in peace
Update:
2 nice vids I just discovered just out of luck.
I really like Gentaro Satomura, never heard of him before, but I like his taste more than the latest Alexi
Here on a VS with Takayoshi Ohmura...there's a cool series of VS between Japanese shredders...gonna have a deep look into it
(Watched some other vids...I guess I really like Gentaro because we play almost in the same way for use of scales, modes, fingerings, pickings though I'm a bit more wild, with a different approach, I for example always palm mute every scale on the D, A, E strings, sometimes even b and g.)Last edited by OmegaSlayer; 05-14-2011 at 11:18 AM.
