So My Ps3 Just Turned Off

I was playing cod 4 online when all of a sudden my ps3 turned off, i quickly glanced over to the light and sore it turn yellow, Now after that it started to flash the standby (red) colour.

Then i switch it off at the back and ran on here, what should i do just leave it alone..?

I just switched it on again at the back and it has stopped flashing is it safe....?

Might be ok might be dead I'd leave it for a few hours to make sure it's cooled down before trying anything.

Leave it cool right down. Dont turn it on again till it is. Should be alright then.

Also make sure it's got plenty of ventilation space and vacuum the vents. If NZ is in the middle of the same heat wave as australia the increased background temperature will probably cause the system to overheat more rapidly.

He lives....! well i hope, it has been 12 hours and 11 mins and i'm going to switch it on and see if it works, but first i'm going to vacuum the vents thanks rabid.

Is it me, or are all of these cases of the YLOD seem to start when someone is playing Grant Theft Auto 4 or Call of Duty 4?

Mine died Jan 1st after hours of LBP and then I switched to Rock Band 1...have been playing RB2 so long wanted to go back...I had to download the patch for RB1 and I got the red flashing light of deathOne year and 1 week to the day i purchased my 60GB PS3. Luckily it was a motherboard and I didn't lose any of my data.

Glad to hear yours is ok! Thank goodness I had an extended service warranty...best $58 I have spent in a while since I was out of warranty by one week!
