Default Score sensing for specific players

    Hello LBPK enthusiasts!

I'm working on a mechanism that requires identifying each racers score individually. I made what I thought would work (score sensor), but it seems to apply the output regardless of who has the score. I've set the spawn points into teams and had the score sensor set to the same teams, but they still apply regardless of who has the score for some reason.

Anyone know how to achieve this?

I remember a discussion about a similar problem on a level from hiroshige0. Check his copyable level crimson hollow or I'll see if found the link of this old thread.
But maybe the problem is that you didn't set the score giver to "Individual "and not to the default.

I'll search for his posts, thanks.

I'm not using a score giver, only a score sensor. The players acquire score through standard means, like attacking and score bubbles and such.

I want to activate mechanisms for a player once they reach a certain score, and only for that player, no one who has not reached that score.

Are you placing the score sensors on individual spawn points, ie one each?

Also, I think I've tried this before and couldn't find a resolution, as you're asking the level to add scores individually AND by team, it doesn't like it!

I'm placing the score sensor (set to team 1) on a spawn point(set to team one), and another score sensor (set to team 2) on a spawn point (set to team 2). For testing purposes, I've only done 2 spawn points for now. Whenever I (player, team 1) get the appropriate amount of points (set to 50 for testing), player 2 (team 2) is able to activate the mechanism, even though they've had no opportunity to gain any score, but not before I gain the 50 points on team 1.

I wanted it to just be individual scores, but the score sensor only has "any team" and "teams" settings, as far as I can tell, so I thought I could set each racer as a different team.

Maybe there's something wrong with how I've set up the teams, but score from one team shouldn't count towards score from another team. I'll try it in a fresh, empty level to see if my creation level is glitching.

    Any other ideas?

Just another thought. If you used the score sensor and a Tag sensor for the team 1 spawn point into an AND gate with the output to the mechanism then it would only activate when team 1 reaches the score AND a member of that team goes to it. Same applies to team 2.

Aha! I've got it figured out. You have to enable teams in the world options. Seems silly to have to make the distinction, but it seems tha has to be enabled for any of the team distinction logic to work. Otherwise, it counts everyone as the same team, regardless of what you have the spawn points set as.

Wish I'd thought of that, or that the tutorials were more in depth. It would make it so much more fun pushing the boundaries of this game if you didn't have to spend time trying to find out through trial and error.

I suppose it keeps the old brain cells ticking over though!

Yes, in the world options menu, you can select the "enable teams" option, and at spawn points you select what teams come from that spawn point. If you don't select the teams option, it counts as free for all, regardless of what teams are set as on spawn points and logics.

StJ' sense your working on teams.
How do you change the color of the teams?
When I tried in my first level I changed the colors to red and blue, but it showed up as pink/yellow at the end (or some weird color).
So I reverted back to free for all.
If you solve the team options, new types will open.

Each team has their own colour by default. When you set the team number in the spawn point, that corresponds to it's specified colour and also is that colour in the 'score' zone in the HUD and the colour above the players head in arena levels.

    Colours are
    Team 1 BLUE
    Team 2 PINK
    Team 3 GREEN
    Team 4 YELLOW
    Team 5 ORANGE
    Team 6 JADE
    Team 7 NAVY
    Team 8 PURPLE
